I'm going to start competing for figure skating sometime this year and my coach wants me to choose what to skate to (she'll offer suggestions but wants me to make the final decision) and it's surprisingly stressful.

I liked this because how exciting to compete!
I've got a list of about 30 potential songs at the moment. 😉
There are donuts in our breakroom for Registered Dietician Nutritionist Day. I got a good chuckle out of that before taking a particularly delicious cinnamon sugar donut back to my desk.
On the topic of exercise, I'm really annoyed that my exercise bike has been having issues with the software off and on since the fall. It's now reached the point where I can only use it on manual mode. I need to reach out to tech support but I hate having to call. I also never seem to think about it when I actually have time to do so. My motivation to exercise was low to begin with and this is not helping.

This is so cool!
I'm currently leaning toward Marian Hill's cover of I Wanna Dance With Somebody but that has changed about 5 times since Monday.
Welp... I now have more than $50 worth of seeds in my cart 🙃 and I've pulled all the milk jugs out of the recycling 😅
I think I might need to pause a moment and make sure I'm not being too impulsive. I'm shopping at Sow True Seed right now. They're based in NC, but maybe I should look for a company that's more local to me.
Fyi, if you are planning larger scale winter sowing, Starbucks will save milk jugs for you. I was able to bring home 20 or so in one day!!

this is a great idea, but my space is severely limited. I can't fit more than 10 pots on my tiny patio, so I don't think I'll need more than five or six jugs 🙂
Also, the weather at this point is making me feel like I could direct sow and cover with cloches... it's already so warm 😳

And then there will be a hard freeze May 3. 95% chance 😫😂

I rebuke this vibe! 😅 (Not because I love warm weather, lol. I'm just very excited about doing this and I don't want to see my little seedlings freeze 😩)

My local FB gardening group is already talking about this. Some of the fruit trees are already blooming, and if those buds freeze this weekend, there goes the harvest.
That said, I’m planning on putting out some cooler weather stuff soon. Like lettuce and spinach and stuff that can take a frost. I should have done it last weekend, but all the nice days are mid-week.
I was on the subway and there’s a new comedy play coming and the ad said "This play is so good I saw it 300 times before opening night." - George Santos
I chuckled and thought of this board since I first heard about him from the posts on here.
Shucked, right? I saw that same ad on social media and fell out of my chair. I want to go see it for just that reason lol.
I'm a horrible person because I chuckled when I heard Mitch McConnell was in the hospital.
And then I asked Alexa to play You're Gonna Outlive Mitch McConnell.
Sits with you. There were posts about wishing him well no matter what your politics are. Hell no. We don't simply disagree on politics. I want to live in a democracy and he wants an autocratic fascist regime.
I’m getting my second shingles vaccine at lunch today. And I’m taking the whole afternoon off because mybtimesheet had to be done yesterday and it’s too complicated to predict how long I’ll be out, or redoing it after the fact. But also, I have something I want to do tomorrow, and rumors of the side effects suggest I may not make it. I’ve been putting this off for a month or 2 because it’s rumored to be so bad, and I haven’t had a reasonable weekend where I had the opportunity to just not function if I needed to (plus, the Covid thing last month screwed up my planning).

Bay Area people - We're supposed to fly into SFO on Mon for the week and are worried about the next phase of the storm going through. Right it looks like Sonoma and further south are more affected, but it's unclear if SF proper is a mess. Appears it should clear up Wed, but I know there could be leftover effects. Should we try to rebook for elsewhere?
I'm picking someone up from the airport and managed to arrive two hours too early. *face palm* This is the trouble with having to leave for the airport before you know if their flight left on time.

Oh no! Flightaware.com is a great website to track flights if you’re ever in this situation again. It’s real time and tells when flights leave, how long till they land and when they land.

This happened to me once picking up my mom. The airport was about 1:45 minutes from my house and the flight was almost the same. I get to the airport find out it was delayed. The kicker is my mom called my sister (who was in her same departing city) to tell her it was delayed. No one called me! I was pissed. My ds was with me and we were starving but the small airport had no food -- we could have stopped on the way there to eat and kill some time.

I'm in a funk and I don't know how to get back on track. I *know* that daily exercise is the key to feeling more like myself, but my surgery and treatments for breast cancer last year kind of derailed me. I'm fully healed now, all caught up at work and should be able to get with it. I'm just so tired all the time and unmotivated.

If you have an iPhone, you can track any flight in real time by texting the flight number into an imessage text. It creates a link that you can click on to track flights.

((((bugandbibs)))) I know you’ve probably heard this, but give yourself grace. It can take years to recover from treatment. Just a week ago I was chatting with my oncologist about how my hemoglobin is finally not boarderline anemic and I actually want to exercise. I finished treatment in Dec 2019. Three years. Three fucking years. People think that treatment is over, you are better. But it’s not that simple. Recovery is long term.
FWIW, I don’t recall having this long of a receiver when I did this at 29. But at middle age, it’s been a long process. And while I didn’t have BC, because I was a middle age women with cancer, I fell into the BC cohort on Twitter. And I see stuff about perceptions of recover vs reality all the time.
omg, all you guys talking about gardening... the very first few of our daffodils are starting to poke up about 1/2" above the mulch and snow now. Meanwhile my dad, 4-5 hours away, has full on yellow flowers and he keeps texting me taunting pics. I planted 120 or 130 daffodil bulbs in Sept so I'm super anticipatory about them coming up and it feels like it's going to be forever.
I'm so tired of winter and so ready to think about flowers and veggie gardening, but we're so not there yet.

Definitely give yourself some grace, your body and mind has been through trauma and if you are on any ongoing meds, they absolutely wreak havoc on your mental and physical wellbeing. Is there someone local that you can meet up with to work out or a fun exercise class you could take to ease back into it?

Your daffodils are going to be so pretty, please post pics when they come up. I bought a bunch of bulbs late in the fall and then forgot them in the garage. I'm hoping that I can stick them in the ground in a couple of weeks and they'll be ok. Some have started to sprout...
My sister is housesitting in the home we grew up in and she said that her dog will sit and quietly stare at blank walls for weird amounts of time. I warned her that I used to see ghosts when I was little!!
I saw Hadestown last night and it was so good! I definitely recommend it to anyone who has a tour coming through their city.
