I'm going to an 80s dance in 2 weeks. Have you found any good 80s attire. Obviously there's random neon stuff on Amazon but I guess I'm trying to be more interesting than that. I'm also a size 14 so I'm trying to find what would be flattering on me. Anything you've found or seen?
One group is being 80s wrestlers, but someone already picked my husbands favorite wrestler so he won't do it with me (I was thinking bret hart)
Not likely what you’re looking for, but at our friends 80s Halloween party, the best couple was the leg lamp and a pink bunny from A Christmas Story. There were lots of other characters too- from Christmas Vacation (cousin eddy, the neighbors, Clark and Ellen), 16 Candles, Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller, Back to the Future, Princess Bride, and then lots of Madonna, 80s workout, Richard Simmons etc. You could go 80s prom too. Amazon has lots of stuff.
I actually have a pair of neon pink leg warmers that I bought for a Halloween costume years ago, and sometimes I still wear them around the house with my pajama shorts if I’m a little chilly, lol. I wasn’t expecting to get actual use out of them, but here I am…Resourceful.
I have a decades thing to go to next week! I didn’t want to spend a ton of money so I’m wearing jeans pinch/French rolled with a goonies tshirt tied at the waist with neon stacked socks and probably keds. Will wear my hair in a side pony with a neon scrunchie too. H is going to wear a Grateful Dead tshirt with a flannel and baggy jeans.
I feel like you could go in a ton of directions. Watch some 80's movies for inspiration. Valley Girl for neon and headbands. Pretty in Pink for a whole vintage vibe. Heathers for the big shoulder suit jacket thing. Madonna wannabe look with lace gloves, raybans and tons of jelly bracelets. Pegged and rolled jeans. Pin stripes. Bow clips in hair. Big frizzy curls, crimped hair. Asos might be a good place to look for clothes.
Whatever you, do the half flipped up bangs with half flipped down. That style was only popular in the 80's.
