I qualified for financial assistance from my local hospital until the end of the month, so I am currently scheduled for ankle x-rays at my orthopedic surgeon’s on Tues!
And I found a gold egg coloring kit at Family Dollar and bought 4 packs because who says that King Midas should have all of the fun!
We’re taking the kids to DC this spring, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been to the top of the Washington monument, and I secured us some tickets for that this week 😎
We are taking a weekend break and going to a market town in the Cotswolds (gorgeous area of England) in two weeks. Would have gone to another country but my passport is expiring in under 6 months so have to get that sorted. We're going to a spa on the Sunday for massages/facials/hot tub, which will be very lovely.
I also joined a natural singing choir (no sheet music, no need to 'try out') and it's just something to look forward to every Monday evening.
My boyfriend of a year and a half said he has to take a client to a golf tournament today in Florida then he wants to stick around for the weekend and visit his dad. He wanted me to get out of the house, join him in Orlando and take me to meet his dad and his wife. Wants to hang out by their pool all day Sat and Sun.
My flight ticket arrived in my email the next day and I leave right after work tomorrow. My parents will be at my house to greet the kids when they are dropped off Sunday at 4, my dad will pick up my son from practice. They will feed them and put them to bed.
In the immediate term, happy hour with my work besties tonight! But my parents just told us a couple days ago they’re taking the kids camping for a week!in summer, so I’m also looking forward to planning an adventure with my H!
I'm looking forward to spring and early summer - the weather, everything turning green again, getting my plants at the nursery, farmers markets and festivals and outdoor music starting up again. It's my favorite time of year.

I have a tummy tuck scheduled for Aug. that I have been looking forward to for FOREVER. Seriously, I have such bad diastasis from my pregnancies, I've looked like I'm at least 6 months pregnant for the past 13 years. People at least stopped asking me when I'm due once I reached a certain age and I learned to only wear a certain type of clothes, but as much as I've tried to just accept that this is my body, I also accepted that I shouldn't have to feel constantly uncomfortable with myself and hate how I look and feel. Not looking forward to the recovery though.
Visiting my brother in San Diego in July. They had a baby in June and we haven't met in person her yet. I am excited for my DS to meet his little cousin, and to hopefully do some fun things with him out there like the zoo, maybe Legoland.
Some things in the more immediate future: My school has a random day off on the 17th, and our friends always have a big March Madness party that day, so I'm excited to go hang there. We're also going to a murder mystery party and a charity gala in April. And my 20 year high school reunion is in June. We had a small, close-knit class and I am legitimately excited to see everyone.
Also, getting back out on our boat hopefully by April/May.
Spring break in the Bahamas. We have had so much house stuff going on. I hope it will be wrapped up by then. We have had a pretty mild winter but I am still ready for some ☀️ and 🍹
A trip in a couple of months to see the other half of my family. I haven’t seen them since Oct. 2019. Pre- pandemic. I’ve never been to the area where they now live. I’ve planned this trip , booked hotels, flights, car rental and all , I think 4 times now. So this is all very exciting, that it’s finally really happening.
This month: My DD and her Odyssey of the Mind team are competing at the state competition in a couple of weeks. If they get in the top three for their problem and division, they will go on to the World competition in May. They went to the World competition last year, so hoping for a repeat trip!
April: The start of baseball season, which means for me more time outside and with friends!
This summer: We are going on a family trip to Germany, and DH will finally get to see where his grandma grew up. (Sadly, she passed away over 20 years ago, before DH and I even met, so he can't ask her about specific places to visit or be able to tell her about the trip when we get home. DH does have some extended (great aunts & uncles and their adult children) family still there, so hoping we can meet them while we're there.) We are going to Munich, Salzburg (Austria), Frankfurt, and Strasbourg (France), so I'm so excited to see and experience these places with DH and our kids.
I’m adding another. DH asked if we can schedule a kid-free time to talk about our dreams and make some big goals. The way he brought it up was so adorable and thoughtful about how we maximize what we want over the next decade and not get caught up in inertia.
We leave in three weeks for the PNW. Doing a bunch of hiking, tide pooling, waterfall chasing, and exploring a couple new states. I know it'll most likely be gloomy but I am still pumped for it.
