I'm with you. Nothing to really look forward to here. No trips, nothing fun planned. Just work and putting one foot in front of the the other every day.
Maybe I should say DST. I love evening sun.
I am sorry you are also not feeling hopeful about anything right now. I hate that feeling. Hugs.
We are going to Greece in April. I am sooo excited about it.
And then to Canada in June. And it’s a huge reunion because my H’s brother and fam are coming from Australia (we haven’t seen them since 2019) and my H’s cousin is coming from California (we haven’t seen them since 2016?). All of us have kids now and it’s going to be insane and fun.
And then hopefully I will finally hold my little double rainbow baby in my arms in September.
We are having a 20" by 14" screened porch built, which I am very excited about. It should hopefully be done by May.
We put in a screened in porch last year and it was by far the best improvement we did to the house. When the weather is nice, we spend ALL of our free time out there. With the fan and the shade, we are comfortable for all but the absolute hottest weather in NC. Invest in comfortable furniture!
Shirt term - Spring break starts next Friday. Two weeks isn’t enough to erase all the stress from this school year, but it might keep me from breaking in half completely.
Long term - DS and I have a road trip planned with my parents in July and I am so excited to spend that time together.

I was going to say my pedicure because I started reading this before I went, but it's done now. I'm very happy with the color and my soft feet
L is back in daycare as of yesterday, and by next week he should be there for the whole day (they have a transition period), so I'm looking forward to that and what it will allow: more exercise and the option of more work for me.
Also, going to lunch with FI in an hour at our favorite neighborhood place we haven't been to forever and on Monday at another favorite place that has a 40% discount on this month. Very much appreciating the simple things over here.

DST should be celebrated! Also, Easter candy if you’re a sweets person OR summer sausages / sharp cheeses if you’re more a savory person!

I’m excited about a painting seminar I am doing next weekend. This weekend I’m supposed to go play bingo with a group of women. I’m the glue of the group. I’m crossing everything I’m not going to get germs from DS.

I was trying to figure out what a shirt term was until I read down and saw long term. Short term ha ha.
Just the weekend I guess since it is Friday. We do have spring break starting March 31, and I am off work. If our rental house is available we will go there, but we won't know that until right before. Otherwise we may pull a trip off, but I am not sure about the viability of that and not spending too much money.
Date night with H in 2 weeks! We haven't had a babysitter in ages, so this is long overdue. It is also restaurant week so we're going somewhere fancy. Yum!
I'm starting to plan our summer and this year feels a little less stressful that last. Hopefully it stays that way. We have a weekend away planned for July and a full week vacation in August. Can't wait!
Omg I jinxed myself. 🙈 Babysitter texted today to cancel on next week. Ughhhhh!!!! I think I’m finally going to ask my 13 year old next door neighbor to babysit. I was hesitating based on her age but this college student has become really unreliable. I’m not giving up this reservation!!! If we can’t find a sitter, one of us is going with a friend.
This month: My DD and her Odyssey of the Mind team are competing at the state competition in a couple of weeks. If they get in the top three for their problem and division, they will go on to the World competition in May.
My DD is competing this year as well for the first time, but since our State competition isn’t until April, guessing we won’t compete there. I’m awful though because I don’t want them to make it to Worlds. That’s either a lot of time fundraising or around $1500 just for her to go. I’ll send her, but since she just got into a 3 week pre-college program for June, she’ll get that dorm experience and it’s only $500 more and a LOT closer to home.
Things I *AM* excited about: Her and I driving to Northern IL tomorrow for a weekend vball tournament.
Family trip to Florida next week to see our favorite band, my college BFF, and a spring training game or two.
Baseball for DS officially starting in April (indoor practice since January but like actual games). While the kid’s’ volleyball families are great, I miss my baseball family! And I hate myself for that sentence because I swore I’d never be that person but I am and I’ve come to accept it.
I understand about how you feel about making it to Worlds. I felt that way last year because it was an unknown and Iowa was a 10-hour drive. Thankfully, our school district paid the registration fee for each team that made it, so we just had to pay to get there, which cut down on fundraising and made it doable for our family financially (we didn't go on a Spring Break trip, so going to Worlds was our substitute Spring Break trip). (Our team decided that families and the team members would stay in a hotel instead of the dorm since the kids were only 5th graders.) I'm actually hoping they get to Worlds this year because Michigan State is only a little over an hour away for us, so really easy for us to get to.
And the bolded part is exactly the same for me! The coaches and families are all great and zero drama. Only one of the teammates could use some work being a better teammate. We hangout year-round with a few of the families because we've become such great friends.

If the neighbor doesn't work out, could you ask some parent-friends to do a babysitting swap?
My parents are visiting a few weeks after their 50th anniversary. We're going to take them out to dinner with my kids and it'll be fun to see them all at a fancy restaurant.
Big stuff: May - a ten-day road trip through the Midwest with my college besties August - taking our kids to Paris for two weeks
Little stuff: - Kid A is acting in their first high school play tonight - the neighborhood ice cream store and bakery collaborated on a chocolate chip cookie/vanilla ice cream sandwich that I'm going to take the little one to try with me - a new yoga pant and bra combo should be arriving in the mail any day!

This sounds like so much fun.
I have 4 girlfiends from highschool that I reconnected with about 10 years ago and one moved away to Arkansas this past fall. We are trying so hard to plan a road trip out to see her this summer but ours will probably only be a 4 day trip.
10 sounds like a blast but pure torture for my stomach muscles due to all the laughs.
