donutsmakemegonuts thank you on behalf of parents everywhere! I think I posted here not long ago when my H forgot our 2nd grader had a half day. Thankfully I saw her on our Ring camera when she couldn't get in the front door, but was able to let herself in through the garage and I called her through our Alexa to tell her he'd be home soon. I'm sure Cooper's parents feel terrible but so thankful that a kind neighbor was around to help him out!
I work every other weekend and this coming weekend is my work weekend. Today is my day off and I woke up with a huge to-do list of things that needed to happen before I could then tackle my "maybe" list. For the first time in I don't know how long, I actually finished my must do list and it's not even nighttime yet. I feel so accomplished. Who am I?
donutsmakemegonuts You are awesome, I bet his parents were so relieved even if they don't know you that well. I took the wrong bus home once in K and ended up at a friend's house, I still remember her mom made us hot cocoa with mini marshmallows and I thought that was just the best thing that ever happened to me.
I went to an actual fitting room for the first time in forever today and hurt my own feelings. I've gained a lot of weight and have been losing slowly but yeah, lolol.

Thanks everyone! I just did what was right. I don't have any kids, so I can't imagine how it would feel to know your child was out in the cold by themselves. I guess it was lucky that I came home for lunch when I did so I actually saw him.
circa1978 - lol @ 'hurt my own feelings'. Yeah, I did that when I decided I needed to own a pair of white jeans and the fitting room at Gap corrected that idea real fast.
I learned a new (to me) way to curl my hair from TikTok and I tried it for the first time today. I'm lowkey obsessed with it. My hair never holds curl and this looks pretty dang good. It's the clamp, curl, pull out and twist, curl, pull out and twist way that, like, hair stylists do.

I had a very candid meeting with the hiring manager for the job I interviewed for and he gave me a lot to think about. The biggest thing is that the funding for the position might run out at some point and I’m not sure that is a risk I can take at this point in my life. He said the position would open a lot of doors for other opportunities, but I’ve been here four years and this was the first one I was actually interested in.
On the other hand, I met with my current manager and senior manager and it sounds like I could get some additional responsibilities in my current role that would be awesome and the funding for my current position isn’t going anywhere.

I try so hard to learn to curl my hair and watch lots of videos but feel like I can never execute it!

Check out @rachelvalentinehair on Instagram. The video is in the third row down, says “how to create the famous waves” or something like that.
pinkdutchtulips , I’m so sorry for your loss. 100 years is amazing, though.
It truly is ... we were so glad we were able to celebrate that milestone bday with him. We could tell at his party though that he was on borrowed time. I told Miss R in the airport as we headed home that don't be surprised if we have to come back in the next 3-4 months. I didn't think we'd be back a month later

Flights have gotten so expensive this year! We went to Cancun last summer and spent $1340 total for the 4 of us to fly from DFW on AA. We are looking to go in the same month this summer and the same flights are over $700 a person. It’s a 2.5 hour flight. Insane.

Yes! WTH is going on with flight prices?! My mom is flying down to see me in a few weeks. Over $700 for her ticket. A year ago it cost $300. 😱
Also I am super nosy and wondering if devonpow talked to the friend hosting the girls weekend about bringing kids. And if so, what the final decision was....
just saw this! We talked to my friend and we agreed we would rent a separate Airbnb with no hard feelings. She said she understood and just hadn’t been thinking etc etc etc. apologized profusely. Then, the first night she invited over her random new friend no one else knew to stay the night in our new Airbnb!! Omg. This is very typical of this friend. If we didn’t laugh we would cry.
devonpow, what? Why wouldn't the friend stay with her? Is there even a room for friend?
the whole thing was ridiculous lol. So friend A (who owned the vacation house we were originally supposed to stay at but then decided to have her husband/kids also there that weekend) stayed with us in the Airbnb the rest of us rented after deciding we didn’t want to deal with said husband/kids. There were enough bedrooms for all of us. Then friend A randomly had this other friend of hers (whom none of us had ever met/heard of) come by Friday evening. We thought fine, it’s just to say hello etc etc. But she ended up…not leaving? And stayed on the couch all night. Then was just chilling at breakfast the next day etc. It was very very strange.
