Apparently the husband of the daughter of the founders of Stampin Up (a Mormon MLM company with 100 million a year in revenue - who knew that many people liked to make homemade stamped greeting cards???) hired someone to murder her first husband. The mother (Stampin Up lady) has a blog that I found and she posted pictures of the murderer at an event celebrating the life of the deceased, on vacation immediately after where the accused hirer is making funny faces, trips to Hawaii the next month, no mention of the murder just that her grandchildren's father was lost too young, etc. Despite having millions and millions to offer as a reward, they showed zero interest in finding their grandchildren's father's killer. Apparently the daughter has now moved in to one of the family's many homes and lives, according to a source, a "princess like" lifestyle. She met her second husband at her gym, where he worked as a maintenance man. He was arrested in Florida yesterday.
I find it really hard to believe that neither of the ex-wives were aware of the murder plots. Both of them were the mothers of the deceased mens' children. Does it seem likely to you that the wives did not know at all? I just can't fathom that.
I've been following the first story for a long time. It was long suspected that the ex-wife and her H had something to do with it, but I guess the police didn't have enough for an arrest. I'm sure more will come out. And he was killed in front of one of their kids, so horribly sad. I think the wife knew for sure.
The second story has a multi-episode podcast. If you're interested in this story, I recommend it. It was very well done.

I had no idea about the podcast and didn't really know that it was such a major story until I googled it to post here. I will have to find it. My husband and his best friend actually flew down the day after his death for the funeral -- they were on the law review together and had stayed in touch, but I never met him.

Oh, wow. Let me see if I can find the podcast. Yeah, it's a pretty big story! Dateline (or maybe it was 20/20) covered it as well. That's where I saw it first. If I recall, his murder is still unsolved, but they heavily suspect the ex-wive's brother and mother, right?

The 2 people who carried out the murder and the woman who acted as a middleman have been convicted. The brother is going to go to trial this fall -- it was supposed to start soon but was postponed because his lawyer needed more time to review the evidence. My understanding is there is wiretap evidence of him admitting his role.

Oh, good. That case bothered me so much. I'll have to see if the podcast updated with new episodes.

I read this post and then was scrolling CNN which had this story on their main page. It looks like the child in the car was the victim's toddler with his current wife, he had just dropped off the older children (twins?) with their mother/exwife

Yes, that's what I read as well.
eta: I finally see what you're saying, lol. It was a child with his second wife, not the ex. I didn't really recall, just knew it was one of his kids. I'm very, very tired today!

Sorry, saying "his" not "theirs" would have been more concise on my end! And just dropping of "their" kids the ex & current husband would know where he'd be.
