Is it possible to have a sinus infection without having a completely stuffed up nose? I've had raging headaches for a few days, but I can still breath and taste. Dr. Google is leading me toward sinus. I may hit Urgent Care in another day or two if this doesn't let up with OTC meds.
*DH and I keep testing neg for COVID
I hope everyone on the sick bus feels better asap.
I had this in early February. I finally decided that it had to be in my ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses not my maxillary and frontal sinuses like normal. I could breath and had no nose issues except for about 5 minutes after I woke up. It eventually cleared but I did end up with an ear infection later. (I had bad allergies with the itchiest eyes followed by the sinus stuff and then when I thought I was back to normal, an ear infection followed by yeast. February was a cruel month to me.)

Yes. I get this pretty often. I highly recommend Afrin + Motrin + alternating warm and cold compresses.
Pray for me. We’ve been on a tarmac for an hour with a plane that cannot fuel. I just want to go home. Kids are tired and starting to get hungry and it’s a four hour flight to get home to Florida 😢 we had a horrible flight here with turbulence and a cancelled flight. I need a break.
oh no! I really hope you are able to take off very soon! Best wishes for a smooth and safe flight!
Thank you! We’re at two hours. The plane is finally fueling manually and we are just inside the pilots’ legal flying window. We won’t be going anywhere if they don’t get moving, but my first concern is the pilot and plane being safe!

This is probably a dumb question, but what does it mean when a plane won't fuel?

Great question. My understanding is that the automatic fuel gauge wasn’t working so it won’t let the tank open to accept fuel. They have been working on a manual override of this. But clearly that wasn’t that easy because they thought that would take 20 minutes and here we are 2 1/2 hours later.

Health anxiety question: my IUD expired a month or so ago. I need to make an appointment to have it replaced but things have been nuts. I haven't had a period since it was inserted and I spotted two days ago and again this morning. This is expected right?
Which type of iud do you have? If it’s the mirena or liletta they last for 8 years and likely longer (still being studied). If it’s the paragard it lasts for 12 years and also likely longer. Kyleena and Skyla are less time though. But if it "expired” a month ago then you’re most likely still very likely protected from pregnancy.
Tomorrow, there is a fencing tournament about 20 miles away. One of the major gear distributors will be there. There are like 4 major places to order from in the US, this is one. I need help with sizing, so I want to go to be able to try stuff on. The club owner told me to try stuff on, figure out sizing, and then order through the club for their 20% discount. This is the company at the event, so not quite like going into the store and the going home to order on Amazon. If I buy there or online, it’s the same company. But Lordy I feel guilty for doing it that way.
I need 6 things, that range from $30ish to $200ish. I was contemplating getting half tomorrow, which would be the stuff I need for myself to practice (and not use club gear, which is shared and everyone sweats in). And then the other pieces I can order later, which I get closer to *needing* them. But I’d like to have a jacket, mask, and breast protector of my own sooner. Later, I need pants, a couple more weapons, a bag, and some electronics. Does this seem like a good compromise?
My company doesn’t really do bonuses. It’s just not a big part of the way we handle compensation. But I got a whopping $1k bonus along with my (significant) raise this year. After taxes, I netted $650. I was going to just stick it in our mountain house fund, but I kinda want to buy the Lego bulldozer. Lol
I’m sorry you are having a rough time. Can your husband still watch him so you can leave? I know you are having troubles at drop off. I think I’d still take this opportunity to leave. I don’t want to sound hard but your son needs to learn he can be cared for by dad too.
I should have, but I felt guilty leaving when he was sick.

My update…we have hit four hours on the tarmac. They brought a fuel truck, it didn’t have enough fuel. The pilots timed out while we were waiting for another truck. But surprise! There are two jet blue pilots on the flight for a family vacation that have offered to get us home. This doesn’t really feel safe to me, but we don’t have a lot of options. Now we are apparently waiting for paperwork due to the pilot change and manual override: I am hungry and I have a massive headache. I feel really bad for the flight crew.

OMG:( what a nightmare, I’m sorry! And planes are always so stale when they’re just sitting there, not to mention how uncomfortable the seating situation is these days!
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
mcppalmbeach, I hope you finally made it home! What a nightmare!
Lots of sickness in this thread - I hope today many of you are feeling better! And that everyone recovers soon.
Happy Sunday! I had a super busy day yesterday so I am hoping to get some things done at home today. I went to a professional development thing for my adjunct teaching job, and it was actually really nice and helpful. I felt like it went so fast because the stuff they were talking about was really useful as a new college instructor - good things I hadn't thought about but can put to use. The only downside is that my next course starts TOMORROW, so I may have to just keep a lot of these ideas in my back pocket for next year since I'm not sure how much I want to change things this close to starting. Especially since I haven't taught this class before!
Today I really need to try to get ahead on my class that I'm taking - it's "spring break" but there are two assignments due the following week and at least one thing due every week after that for the rest of the semester, so it would be great if for once in my life I could get ahead and not have as much stress. I cannot wait for this class to be over.
Everything on my to-do list is checked off except sending an invite for DS1’s birthday and doing our meal prep.
I kind of want to figure out how to organize Legos too. We cleaned the basement yesterday and it was a nightmare, per usual, because the Legos end up freaking everywhere. I need a way to organize them so I can give DS2 a bin at a time or something. Giving him unfettered access has become a problem.

Spending the afternoon looking at more houses. I’m not sure we are any closer to knowing/finding what we want. But as long as my H is willing to do this, I’m all for it.
Good news, he did get all the financial stuff taken care of so if we find something we are ready to make an offer. And he really went above and beyond and streamlined a bunch of our other financials, so I feel like I need to take back last week’s frustration haha.

I just gave a final round of edits to the parents doing our MS playbill.
This is our tech week. Have to go out today and get a few more things to get us through, plus stuff for slow-cooker meals so that my family actually eats something other than fast food this week.
It is going to be a long slog but it's going to be a great show. And I will be so freaking glad when it's done!
Skipped church because DS apparently told several friends to "just stop by for my birthday" today. Was not planning on hosting a birthday open house but did get texts from a couple of parents asking for details so ok!
Grabbed a dozen cupcakes, tidied the house, and we've got at least a couple friends coming over for a bit this afternoon 🤷🏻♀️

5 hours on the tarmac, 4 hour flight, 2 hour drive back to my house and we made it home by 3am. Nightmare day, but I am so grateful to the two passenger pilots who stepped up to fly us home and the crew who had been on for forever. Who knows how long we would have been stuck there if they hadn’t?! The flight was full of kids and they were all so good! Our flight on the way to our destination had been cancelled and we had to recalculate everything and get driven to another airport an hour and a half from the original one (which was already two hours from our our house!). That delayed our arrival by 5 hours. Definitely never want to travel again.

my goodness you all had quite the experience! Glad you made it home safely. Please tell me you are calling out of work tomorrow!

Ikea has some really great bins! Larger, medium, and small. All have lids, they nest well, and sometimes I co-opt them for small projects like a cross-stitch I’m working on.

I totally get your anxiety over trying stuff on for size and then not buying and going home to order with the discount, even if it's from the same company. I am like that too. I think your plan is fine, but honestly (if you haven't gone yet), you could probably get away with just buying ONE needed thing maybe? And then ordering the rest? Maybe just say you want the mask for hygienic reasons?

I never used to be a homebody before the pandemic but now my favorite kind of weekend is one when we don’t see anyone or do anything except things we want to do (hike, ride bikes) and then hang out playing family games together after dinner. When I get to be so lame!?! Ha

So far, the worst part of dh having covid, other than basically being kicked out of my own room for most of the day (which will hopefully end tomorrow when he works in his office for most of the day instead of laying in bed like he has been) was the face that today I had to take ds and dd to church. Dh is the 'religious' one in our relationship, and although I agreed to raising our kids in the church, after covid, I did negotiate with dh that if keeping them in CCD was important to him, he needed to completely take that off my plate and I was DONE going to church regularly. And for the most part, he really has taken it over...every once in a while he'll be camping with dd for Y-princesses and I'll have to drive ds to CCD or something, but that's it. But today ds had to turn in his 'letter of intent' to be Confirmed next fall during mass and his family was expected to attend mass with him, and since dh couldn't, I had to do it. Did not like. And seriously, we were the ONLY ones in the ENTIRE church wearing masks. My bff and I still wear masks when we go see the Broadway series shows downtown, and I'd say about 25% of the audience masks. I thought at least a handful of people in a full church would, but I guess I was dead wrong.

Well, I did go already. And ended up with the three things I planned. I was hesitating on the mask, but then she adjusted the one I tried on and it was 😘 perfect. And, I got it. Another advantage to the in person is I was using the cash from my Costco rebate, so I was able to pay cash and, since it never hit a bank account of card, in my head, it was free. I realize this does not make accounting sense, but it make me feel more comfortable spending. Kind of like how I tell H to get his parents to by gift cards or credits somewhere, rather than zelle. Once the its in my pile of acorns, I don’t like to dip into my stockpile. Weird budgeting quirk of mine.
