I don't get the neighbor's grocery thing. Yes? Is that a unique experience?
I agree most things in life have a very boring explanation. I have had a few of those near-miss car accidents (recently, I came insanely close to hitting a deer and it wasn't even startled standing on other the side of the road, while I was like, wait did I, how did you, what??) but I think our processing does a weird slow down/speed up thing when we are in an extreme situation like an accident. I once went off the road during a whiteout and I had all this time to think about my life ending and it must have been a literal second. Our brains are weird.
Two days ago I knocked the garage door opener off of the visor of my car and could not find it anywhere. I dug under seats, between seats, even in the back seat because it was no where to be found. I am usually of the mindset that weird happenings have a very simple reason, but I saw this thread and thought....well, maybe, because it just went poof, into thin air. This morning I got to work and pulled my lap top out of my tote and found it in the bottom. I'm back to my very simple reason thought process...
