I now have pneumonia. Some of the usual later in the week if I feel better.
Sunday: chicken noodle soup + grilled cheese Monday: ditto Sunday Tuesday: See Monday Wednesday: Tofu burrito Thursday: Big salad or pizza out Friday: probably out/order in or eat something at home to save $$ Sat.: probably something from the freezer/eat stuff that needs to be eaten night
We just got back from a food hall. Pretty much our Sunday tradition now! Me and H had skewers- bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp and pineapple, lamb, beef and shisheido peppers. David had pizza.
I'm in the mood to cook this week! We've been OOT and I haven't cooked in like two weeks.
Lunches- NYT Lemon-Garlic Kale salad (omit the cheese, add avocado)
Monday- NYT Skillet Chicken with Mushrooms and Carmelized Onions- I'm doubling the mushrooms, adding a few exotic varieties that we haven't yet tried. Also adding spinach. Tuesday- NYT Brothy Thai Curry with scallops and herbs (replacing tofu with scallops) Wednesday- NYT Chicken with garlic-chili-ginger sauce Thursday- ? No idea. Maybe tacos Friday-Date night

As I was meal-planning today, I was thinking that it's no wonder that women have decision fatigue around meals by the end of the week. Four nights out of seven I am the point person on meals and by Friday I just want some sort of sustenance to magically appear and I envy organisms that can eat via osmosis/absorption.
Thank God, my DH cooks at least two if not more of the weekend meals (we may go out once) and it is so nice to not have to think/shop/check that we have ingredients, he does all that. But there's still a stereotype that "women can't decide what/where to eat out" and for whatever reason it struck me that sheesh, women are actually making all the decisions on the vast majority of meals, so it shouldn't be a surprise that if you are responsible for the day-in-day-out meals that when you DON'T have to cook, you may not want to deal with still more questions about "Do you want to go out to eat? What are you in the mood for? Which restaurant?" No matter how well-meaning.
Anyway. DH smoked a pork shoulder yesterday and it is a freaking amazing batch. We had it for dinner last night, we'll eat it again tonight and he froze some that I can pop in the slow cooker for a meal later this week.
Besides that, I have a bunch of slow-cooker meals because this is going to be a hellish week: Slow-cooker beef & bean two-bean chili, slow-cooker chicken/black bean tacos and slow-cooker Italian sausage & white bean soup. All Gina Homolka/Skinnytaste recipes.

litebright - that is completely true and something I've been trying to put into words for years now. By the end of the week I am done with food decisions, so I jump on board with whatever H suggests. The stereotype that women never know what they want to eat is so unfair.
Anyway, I hit my local Asian mart for most of this week's groceries. Yesterday we had whole roasted black bass with leftover potatoes, cabbage, and quick pickled onions/peppers from St. Paddy's day.
Tonight... mapo tofu? With bok choy and mushrooms. And I want to try cooking lotus root.
We'll probably eat off the brisket at least twice more before freezing the rest (side note: it did not take 12 hours... it hit the magic 220 degree mark after only 8 hours 😳) We had some on Saturday with pasta Alfredo and broccoli and I'm pretty sure that was a small taste of heaven. We might repeat that but with spaghetti squash instead of pasta, and I think I'm going to add some to Thai green curry later in the week.
I think I'm short one meal... but I have chicken in the freezer and lots of veggies in the fridge. I'll figure something out 🤷♀️
Tonight - breakfast sandwiches Tomorrow - nothing as I have a work lunch in the afternoon Wednesday - hot dogs Thursday - burgers Weekend - we generally don’t cook on the weekend, so…

The NYTimes just published a list of "kid-friendly recipes." I can attest that my kids absolutely love the salmon bowls, which we're making this week. Here's the link, which is supposed to have the paywall removed:

From the same list, oven-roasted chicken shawarma, shrimp scampi w/ orzo, homemade hamburger helper, turmeric-black pepper chicken, and korean bbq meatballs have all been deemed acceptable by my kids.
