What a trifecta. First Trump, then WI, and now it looks like Brandon Johnson will be our next mayor. I’m so joyful and relieved. I’ve been canvassing the past few months, texting and calling, and we hosted him at our house for a fundraiser last month. He’s the real deal. Here he is with my middle guy, one of his biggest fans.
Woo hoo!! And in my nearby district, no new book banners got elected to school board! I was following two races and in one, all three good candidates won. In the other, they retained a right winger but also retained two good ones, so no additional damage was done.

So great! We are in the suburbs but I was watching this race closely.
Our school board had 4 candidates running on a slate and I was terrified they would win. Looks like one of them might get in, but not all of them. The other 3 candidates that will win are wonderful, reasonable people. I’m relieved.

I'm still convinced that if their name ain't Daley, they can't keep that city organized, but I'm happy this guy won, he seemed the better of the two options.

Also in the suburbs and we had a split on school issues (referendum and school board).
There was a school building referendum to desperately re-build two schools and update others (building and safety issues). It was voted on last fall and after mail in votes were counted it was about a 20 vote difference (200 on election night but mail in votes brought it down) so the board decided to try again this election and really attempted to push information. Now it is down by almost 700 votes. I don't think it will happening and am extremely disappointed.
There was also a school board election. There were 7 candidates and it seem to fall into 1 incumbent and 2 slates of 3 candidates for three open positions. The slate I like (endorsed by both the teacher's union and a local diversity initiative that is trying to get a diverse group of people running for all local offices but concentrated on school board this election) are winning (they won't finalize until all mail in votes are in/counted).
I was one of three candidates to the Library board for three positions (all incumbents against book banning) so that went well. Was a bit nervous that a book banner would try and run.

Our local school board had a very well funded slate of "anti-woke" folks running, and at last count, 3 of them were defeated, one is technically winning by 61 votes, but mail-ins, etc. remain outstanding. This is a good result for my wonderbread of a town.

I’m pretty sure we are in the same town (if I remember correctly). I’m happy with the results! Those damn green signs seemed to be everywhere and it was making me nervous.
