There is so much I loved about this finale. Two things that stoops out about the end: Karl and Frank joking about golden parachutes and the nonchalance about what comes next juxtaposed by the siblings tearing each other apart and ruining each others lives in what is essentially a fishbowl. Perfectly sums up the show.
Tom keeping Greg and tagging him like property. Asserting his continued power over him (the only person he truly controlled all along, who will continue to be his “pain sponge”) while recognizing the balls it took to betray him.
did Greg specifically betray Tom though? Bc I didn’t think he knew Tom was tagged as CEO. I guess feeding info to the brothers was bad, but he was sort of playing all sides.
The scene with the kids watching Logan video was really sweet.
Yeah I didn’t quite understand Tom’s anger either. If the deal was killed, Tom would have had a better chance of being kept on (as far as Greg knew).
Tom needed the deal to go through, so Greg’s blabbing set in motion Shiv conspiring to kill the deal. Greg may not have even known what he was doing, entirely, by blabbing but his being a toady little fuck trying to play both sides almost ruined everything for Tom.
Shiv def. would have been pushed out by her brothers. She'd have nothing. And Kendall is so entitled and condescending. Tom is much more soft.
he is, but not mattsen. i knew i wouldn't love the ending, regardless of what is was. I have no preferable ending in mind lol.
They're all entitled assholes. There is no good ending to come out of them. Greg, as much as I really dislike him, would probably be the biggest fuck you, so maybe that's my preference? But Tom being not family is decent enough.
I don't think Greg knew about Tom. As usual he slimes his way on any side that he thinks will take him.
I give it a strong A- for a series finale. I don't have a better option for the end, but I guess I was hoping for to be shocked. When it came down to it, it did hit most of the stuff that I wanted to see
- all the sibs lose, - Tom is at the top - Greg survives
I had a small glimmer of hope when they left Carolines. All along my DH and I have been saying that they're better together, that the only way they can win is together, and I thought - damn, maybe it's going to happen.
I had thought for a moment that Shiv was voting yes to save Kendall - yes the company, but Ken too. But I think in the end, she thinks that she can play Tom more, and that a Yes will keep her in the game.
I do think the Greg/Tom dynamic in this episode was wonderful. In the end the series was as much about the two of them as it was about the Sibs.
Regardless of everything, no one will convince me that Kieran Culkin isn't the fucking star of this season. His acting watching the video in the dining room, and in Kendall's office - was so heartbreaking.
(Also cancelled my sub to "Max" two minutes after the end of this!)

Lol - I meant to edit, not quote myself.
Yeah I get that. But he acted like Greg backstabbed him deliberately. Not that it’s unlike Tom to overreact and use Greg as a whipping boy.

Honestly, of the series. He was so good at being smarmy and disgusting and then hated him, but at the same time you could understand exactly why he was the way that he was. He did an incredible job and I look forward to seeing more of his work.
I feel similarly to the actor that played Kendall. He was pathetic and desperate and my heart broke for him at the same time. You could feel his desperation.

Yes!!! Give him all the awards! I thought Shiv was really good this season too but Kieran was amazing.
