I first remember Tucker Carlson when he was on CNN's Crossfire with Paul Begala. I was in high school at the time, and remember thinking what a dumbass Carlson was. I wish nothing but the worst for him. Some Russian state media outlet would be a fitting end to his media career.
This seems like a great excuse to revisit the video of John Stewart on Crossfire.

I wish I knew what the Rs were saying about Tucker and the settlement - both the MAGA crowd and regular Rs.
I asked and had a brief text from an old R friend who probably tipped into the too-far-gone territory a while ago. We occasionally exchange holiday pics 2x/year. I do wonder if he drank the MAGA Koolaid or knows it’s crazy but is just hanging on.
He was brief and said something like “Fox has been in decline for a while & I don’t watch it” and “Tucker was screwed because of the settlement and Jan 6th tapes”. So, Tucker is the scapegoat /victim.
If he doesn’t watch Fox, he probably tipped into Newsmax land, right?
If I knew anyone else to ask, the cognitive dissonance might be interesting to watch.

Yeah. This is unfortunately my in laws, too. Not only do they not watch Fox anymore, they've actually LEFT the Republican party....because it's not united behind the MAGA movement. :-( :-(

My ILs (MAGA FIL and R MIL who just didn’t vote in 2020) and my parents (dad is former R, and is out of fucks to give regarding playing nice with his boomer MAGA cohort) will both be here this weekend.

I've seen NewsNation on at work sometimes recently, instead of just the usual Fox News. I don't know much about them except that Chris Cuomo went to them after getting fired from CNN.

NewsNation is different than NewsMax. NewsMax has a very conservative bent. I've never actually watched it myself. NewsNation airs on what used to be WGNAmerica. It appears to be fairly neutral, but I haven't watched it much. Ashleigh Banfield and Chris Cuomo, formerly with CNN, and Dan Abrams, formerly NBC, host their prime time shows.

NewsMax is considered to the right of Fox.
Interesting! I figured initially that if Chris Cuomo went there, they couldn't be 100% concerned, but then I saw it on at work (I work with lots of people who are probably MAGA) so I thought maybe they were. Even if it's just because they accidentally mixed up NewsMax and NewsNation, hopefully it gains some traction here if it is less partisan.

Yes, it would be funny if MAGAs were actually getting non-partisan news because they mixed it up with NewsMax. When I first saw NewsNation, I thought it might be NewsMax. They both seemed to show up on cable at the same time. I assume NewsMax is somewhere on Xfinity/Comcast, but I've never seen it when I scroll through my regular channels, so I think it might be hidden in an obscure spot.
