My kids schools both have security checking people coming on campus, which will make carpool super fun. A bunch of my friends are on lockdowns in midtown. I hate all of this.

This one hits close to home. We don't live too far from the Battery, but are currently out of town.

This wasn't far from where my H and I work but we were both home yesterday. This is the second mass shooting in Midtown in less than a year (possibly more than that).

The shooter's mother said he was angry that the medical office wouldn't give him Ativan:

I was wondering if a motive was known. Since I heard it happened in a medical office and all the victims were women I had initially wondered if it was reproductive health related.

He’s a veteran, and was unhappy with the care he was getting at the VA, so had come to this facility. I don’t think this was premeditated.

I am in an online moms group with the woman who was killed, and she is friends with some of my friends. She has two young kids. It is such a tragedy, again.
