k3am. Glad pup is okay but sheesh. Biting dogs shouldn’t be loose in public. . And I am not cut out to deal with loss on a daily or even annual basis. No way could I be a vet or doctor.
I reached out to the owner.. he feels bad. Their dog has "nipped" before but never caused any damage. And of course he didn't personally see it happen either. He's committed to not taking his dog to the park off leash "for a while." I suggested that he reach out to a trainer - he's not a bad dog, but if he continues to bite, he's going to be a dead dog. (I didn't put it like that, but that's the reality!) It sounds like they'll at least pay the vet bill - I wasn't sure how to approach it.. if I have to eat the cost, whatever, but it would be nice if I didn't have to or he at least split it. It would almost be easier if it were a stranger, but instead it's someone we see several times week.
We are married! The weather ended up holding out for us. No rain, so we had the ceremony out in the yard, ate a ton of food all day long, and lounged around on the deck. The kids played with water guns and slip and slide for hours. Now we’re all relaxing and ready for bed. It was a perfect day! As low key and fun as we wanted!
