I'm turning 55 in December and I still have my period. Anyone else reaching this age and having their periods? I HATE it. I also have horrible periods with massive pain, usually for 2-3 days/nights. I have had my period for far too long. Ugh!

My mom went into menopause when she was 42, but my grandma abs aunt were in their mid 50’s. I’m 45 and things are as regular as normal as we ever, so I’m guessing I’ll be more like my grandma

No advice. But if it helps the last “few“ periods I had we called the days of no upholstered furniture because of one unfortunate afternoon nap. They lasted for weeks and sometimes months (one lasted from July to September) so maybe that means the end is in sight? Good luck!
I am 48 and it has whittled down from 3 days to about 8-10h now. Seriously, just stop already. I am not having any babies so it is an unnecessary annoyance.
I am also 55 and still getting periods. Completely unpredictable periods. Sometimes the heaviest of my life. Sometimes barely more than spotting. Sometimes three weeks apart; sometimes three months apart. It's a super fun guessing game!
The most annoying thing for me is that this irregularity started happening when I was 42, so when does it end?? Although it was definitely at its worst between 47-53, and so were other body changes, so I THINK it might be winding down.
I am going to throw a party for myself when I finally go a year without one.

I'm 50 and still have pretty regular periods. They used to be every 28 days like clockwork. Now it's usually every 23-27 days. But everything else (length, heaviness of flow, etc) had stayed the same.
