mrsukyankee (or anyone else), do you know of any private tour services in London that would cater to a group of 6 older adults? My mom is headed to London in May with five friends and they need their hands held. None of them are tech-savvy or will know how to even connect to the Internet while there. They need a service that will pick them up at their hotel (in Kensington), take them around to a few tourist spots, and bring them back to the hotel. They'll have probably two full days to explore. I'm not convinced they could even figure out how the HOHO bus works or where to pick it up at various points, but I've never tried them so maybe those are easier than I think?
No, but I bet if you go to Viator and find a company that does touring, you could probably find someone who would do that. If they are here for a weekend, I'd be happy to start their Saturday off with a tour and show them how to use things so that they could continue to use the HOHO bus themselves (it is quite easy to use).

You are so kind to offer to help, thank you ❤️ I'll let you know if I need to take you up on it but after some research I think I might have found a decent solution via a company called International Friends.

mrsukyankee This is all great! Thank you for taking the time to post about my favorite city. Hoping to visit again this year. Favorite places for afternoon high tea?

The Mandarin Orient - in the Rosebery Tea Room. It was seriously my favourite afternoon tea. It is NOT cheap at £79, but it was a HUGE meal and so well done.
Another one that is traditional, fancy and very good, is The Ritz, for £75.
For moderately priced and still lovely, The Wolseley has an afternoon tea for £44.50
For 'cheap and cheerful', I'd go with The Wallace Restaurant for £24.95.

mrsukyankee 2 questions if you don't mind- Should I bring a rain/water resistant coat for late November? Or will an umbrella be enough? What about shoes? Will sneakers get wet and should I still with boots? (please note it was 90* yesterday where I live and I'm still rocking sandals
We love theater. Have you read any reviews of The Devil Wears Prada? I love the movie and might love the show?!

sunshineandpinot, rain jackets are always better due to wind plus you can layer them with warm stuff underneath. I still wear sneakers, even if it's going to rain, as it rarely pours, but it has been in the low-to-mid-50s as highs and lows in the mid-40s, so boots are very, very appropriate (I wore my Docs today). I'd say hold off making decisions as late as you can as the weather can be quite changeable. If you have space for both, I'd do that.
