I’m thinking Phoenix or LV in late April, will it be warm enough for pool time? We tried Palm Springs last spring and it wasn’t quite warm enough in the 70s.
We’re going to DR for April break with another family. No big plans for Feb break, hopefully a couple days skiing in NH but nothing major since DR is $$$.
We are not doing a big spring break trip for the first time in years (DH has a new job and he’s not sure about time off yet). I’m hoping to take my kids to Denver to see my family.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
We're going to Costa Rica for February break, but April break will be low key and low-$!
Care to share your itinerary?! - I have flights booked for April but haven’t planned anything else.
We did Costa Rica a few years ago in March. It was awesome. We did 4 days in Manuel Antonio at the beach and 3 days in Monteverdi (be careful coming down the mountain 😬) plus one night closer to the airport in a beautiful hotel.

We’re doing Disney, an extended family trip to the southwest, and possibly Washington DC with DS1 later in the year so staying local for spring break and spending a couple nights at a lodge at a national park a couple hours from us. We will do some hiking and exploring the rainforest. I’m looking forward to disconnecting from technology, the lodge only gives you 30 minutes of WiFi per day and doesn’t have TVs. I may regret this when the time comes, lol.
I'm thinking of a trip to New Mexico but unsure. I want to go somewhere this year and we are trying to squeeze in some of the places kids really want to see before DD graduates from high school in a few years (ahhhh!). So it's not super "spring break-y" but is somewhere we would like to see.
I'm mulling the idea of taking DS to Utah over spring break. University of Utah keeps coming up as a good place for people who like both snowboarding and mountain biking (which are his two main hobbies), so thought it might be a good excuse to do a college visit.
Was also considering Puerto Rico but for various reasons not sure if we are up for a family trip.

I researched a bunch of stuff in October, but all my family is being difficult and noncommittal. So no, I haven't booked anything yet. And I hate feeling like if we don't book super early then it's already too late and I might as well not book anything at all. And I envy those with February breaks.
Dad is going to Germany with a school group so DH and I are going to Paris and Brussels. I will miss going somewhere warm but am excited for an adult trip.

This was totally how I was feeling. We had quasi plans, but noncommittal since the spring breaks didn’t overlap. I think there was relief when I just called it. But then I felt behind. Can you go our route and do something fun and drivable with affordable options?
We may try to do a long weekend in Atlanta, but I need to check the dates for my sister's conference that will have her out of town part of that week. Otherwise we may try to do a couple day trip type things, but otherwise we wait and do a bigger trip in the summer.
We are going to the Cayman Islands for February break.
I was planning to take my kids to visit my family in Michigan for April break, but my sister just suggested yesterday that we meet somewhere warm which works for me! But now we need to shift into high gear to plan something.
We're taking the kids to France. I'm very excited. I studied abroad in Lyon, France in 2004. We're doing 3 nights in Paris, 3 nights in Arles and 2 nights in Lyon. Last night will be in the Paris airport.
We were going to stay home but now we're going to Alabama to see the grandparents since we didn't get to for Christmas due to covid. They moved to Huntsville from KY last year so it will be our first time at their new place.
We did a big vacation over spring break last year and it was so stressful. Hoping the kids didn't get sick, hoping it didn't snow and ruin flights, all the last minute planning and packing. I think we will keep big family vacations for summers now.
calico I find it's always warm enough in those places in the sun and heated pools for my kids to swim. The issue is if you have some cloudy days, it can be pretty chilly. So I would say likely, but not guaranteed, that you'll be comfortable at the pool.
My kids are off 2 weeks in February and 2 weeks in April/May. 1 week in June. 😵💫
Send help.
No clue on what we will do. Prob nothing for Feb and survive. Maybe a trip in April/May but I’m on unpaid mat leave and we want to go to Canada for the summer. Flights are €4000 for that sooo. 😮💨
Feb break we are doing Philly for a few days to visit my sister with my mom then I need to find something for S to do for the remainder of the week so I can go into work.
For April break we are just doing St. Pete beach for a week. We have never been to that part of FL before and are looking forward to relaxing.
We still need to figure out a week in August for a trip, likely Maine or Martha's Vineyard.
We're considering Hawaii for March or April. Flying really stresses me out these days, though! We went to Costa Rica in September and there were zero direct flights into the small airport/region we were flying to. We had to have a layover (from NYC) in Houston, both ways. On our return flight we were stranded in Houston for 2 nights. I'm so thankful we regularly sit on a lot of hotel points - but it was still a big ordeal. I think we will aim for locations we can access with direct flights the next time around.
We've done a handful of driving vacations recently and have loved those as much as the more exotic "far off" destinations. I'm curious to see how the Boeing groundings pan out before we book.

I've never been to Arizona, with the exception of a day trip by helicopter out of LV. I should really look into that. Whenever I see people post their AZ vacations online, I'm always blown away by the scenery. It seems there are a lot of incredibly sights and trails within a stone's throw of accommodations.
We haven't done LV with DS, yet, but went a bunch before he was born. It's such a fun location. We enjoy how there's so much to do within driving distance. The Hoover Dam, the desert, a helicopter into the Grand Canyon, Bootleg Canyon zip lining.
