She also uses an excessive amount of soap! We go through shampoo, conditioner and body soap at an insane rate. I think she just pours handfuls out for pure joy. I’ve tried getting the ones with pump tops but she takes them off because “I can’t get as much with the pump”.
Is this from showering? How many showers a day? I would be annoyed as well!
One shower a day and one additional washcloth used in AM every day. EVERY DAY
I’m invested in this. Why are the towels so wet?? Is she hanging them to dry? My first instinct is to only have 3 towels available and tell her she needs to make them last a week. Then they’ll be washed (by her)
I’m confused. Is she getting a lot of water on the floor and using her towel to sop it up? Is she taking the towel into the running shower with her? I struggle to understand how a regular shower would result in a towel so wet that, if properly hung up after, couldn’t be reused. Each person in my family has two towels to alternate use throughout the week (we don’t use washcloths, but each also has one hand towel). All towels get washed on the weekend. I simply would not own enough towels for someone to go through that much.
As for shampoo/conditioner/soap, I’d make her buy her own (or spot her the first bottle every few months or however long one should last), then if she runs out she buys the replacement. Unless she has waist-length hair, I can’t imagine using that much. One Costco-sized bottle of conditioner with pump lasts me 4-6 months and I condition my hair daily.
I have a former coworker whose wife and 2 teenage daughters used 2 new towels PER DAY, one for body, one for hair and they never reused them. That's 6 towels a day!!!! I could not believe it and it just seems so wasteful. Some people just don't care though and it really bothers me from an environmental perspective. I can't imagine doing that many loads of towels every week, laundry annoys me enough already!
H refuses to reuse towels at a hotel and it bugs me but at least it is just at hotels. We reuse towels at home.
Hair towels! Gavel! Seriously, they’re more effective and better for your hair than using a full-sized bath towel on your head. Terry cloth towels cause a ton of breakage and can lead to frizz, whereas microfiber are gentle and actually dry hair better (and will dry when hung up). Even someone with long hair could get by on 1-2 small hair towels a week.

But then you have to touch microfiber and no thank you to that! I hate the feel of them so much!
mel I hope you get your lunch and everything works out health-wise. There is nothing more disappointing than looking forward to a fun week and having it go awry!

I'm now invested in the towel thing too. Does she have a stylist she trusts? I've started to not wash my hair as much per the recommendation of my stylist, although it's obvious when I've gone more than about 36 - 48 hrs without a wash. I stopped throwing my (long) hair in a towel a long time ago per the notes above, plus it's kind of annoying.
If she doesn't do laundry I think helping with all of the generated towels, or having to wash them once she's used x amount per week will help open her eyes to how many she's using...however mom will also "ruin her life" by making her do a chore.

Oh yeah? I'm still wrapping my hair in my regular towel (after drying off with it!). Any specific one I should try or is anything on amazon good?

It has a horrible name but I like the Turbie Twist. I have another brand someone gave me and it doesn’t work as well. My hair takes forever to air dry but this cuts the time down in half.

I really like these from Dock and Bay (the waffle knit is amazing and doesn’t feel like microfiber to me, but I’m not sensitive to that, so maybe it does?)

I was shocked at how much they helped dry the hair. I have one I got in a FabFitFun box, and several more Turbie Twists. And I prefer the latter, though they are uglier and have that weird microfiber feeling when you touch them. But it’s just a couple seconds, and so helpful that I deal.

I am sad to report I think all random shopping deliveries have ended. Now I have to go thru the hassle of returning all this crap.
and my broken bed is currently being held up by a stack of old accounting books. I'm hoping to find the energy to bust out the drill and properly repair it tomorrow on my day off.
I've been using the Aquis brand hair towels for decades now. I even have one that's my designated travel towel. I don't like the feel of microfiber towels either, but these ones are a lot smoother, than say microfiber cleaning towels.
I'm waiting for my H to be done with his colonoscopy.
I've had two, so he's seen this process from the other side, but was still shocked at how miserable the prep was. Meanwhile, I'm enduring my own form of misery in the waiting room chairs. They are uncomfortable AF in basically every way possible.

spindle92 - thank you so much for that laugh! I really needed it after the day I've had 😂
My work days are usually pretty quiet. All meetings scheduled well in advance and usually not back to back. Today, though, three different people actually called me - two of them more than once (!) - looking for direction and clarification and asking ME what they should do 😵
Two of them were basically making me the middleman in a game of telephone 😮💨
I spent dinner prep time going back over all the conversations trying to remember if I said anything out of line or incorrect... I don't think I did... I guess if I did someone will let me know tomorrow 🙃 🤷♀️
My stomach hurts. I'm annoyed that my stomach has become so susceptible to stress/anxiety. Today wasn't even that stressful - just different from routine. Get it together, body!

TAKE HIS PHONE AWAY TONIGHT!!!
I speak from experience.
LOL! No, I think it would be hilarious if he took himself on a little shopping spree. Maybe I'll get something nice. 🤣
Also, he basically never buys anything, and he comes out of anesthesia type drugs super fast, so I'm kind of expecting that in the 30 minutes it will take us to drive home he'll be fine.
I’m feeling like this is just the longest week. My boss is out and all sorts of crazy has been going on. I attended a funeral for a co-worker today, so it’s been in line with the windy, rainy weather.
It’s 10:07 which is after my newly imposed lights out by 10pm so I (in particular) get more sleep, but my kids are doing math, together, for fun! Wha…!?.

I had kids like this too. Smart enough to realize if they’re quiet or doing something cute they’ll get to stay up later. Haha

This is a first, and it's making me feel pathetically lazy.
I ordered breakfast delivery. It's from a place not terribly far away, but it's about 95* before heat index, and I just want up to either walking the whole way or walking to the bus, waiting, then walking to the shop.
The app shows is getting delivered by someone walking. Thanks for shaming me, deliveroo!
Eta: I feel marginally less lazy. He was on an ebike, but he still was doing most of the work. Hats off, man. I'm acclimated enough to the heat I'm eating outside, but in the shade. The ac where I'm staying, and I can't control it, is frigid.
