NCAA Tourney Talk

DH and I, for the first time, forgot selection sunday. We watched Oakland beat Kentucky tonight.

Then we learned Oakland was from Michigan. What?!?!

Oakland's leader, whot hits 3s all the time, had only 8 2-pt shots this season vs 327 3pt shots. His fav snack food is pineapples.

I signed up for my office's NCAA bracket pools (both men's and women's). I don't know much about college sports, and less about college basketball, but the site they were using for the brackets had this helpful "use one of our expert's brackets" options. The first year I did it, they were hurting for participants, so I figured I could sign up to at least make it feel like more of a victory for the folks that are really into it...

My bracket is looking okay! I picked Duquesne in the first round but didn’t pick Oakland. I got everything else correct.

I am all about women's college ball and haven't even looked at the men's this year.


It's going to be a wild ride and even more wild will be the WNBA draft in April. I CANNOT WAIT!

many, many moons ago, before I started following college ball, I played my first bracket by picking whose mascot could eat or beat up the other mascot.

I won the whole damn thing!

(I wish I still had a copy of that bracket to see who I picked.)

I go by what colors, mascots, cities I like. It's done me well in the past.

My H does mine and I am pretty much at the bottom of the office ranking already. St. Mary’s did something wrong (they either won or lost). And another team did something wrong, too. I have won the whole thing in the past, so I just call him inconsistent.

I am barely watching MBB, but I am OBSESSED with the women's tourney. Big Iowa fan. It has been such a fun ride. So many of the teams are playing such fun basketball right now. SC looks insanely good. LSU game yesterday brought back very stressful memories of the championship game last year lol. I went to bed but I guess the Stanford/ ISU game was fantastic last night.

If you aren't already watching WBB, tune in! Tonight there will be really fantastic games. Iowa/West Virginia, Syracuse/Uconn, and Kansas/USC to name a few. So much star power on these women's squads.

and I love the fact that the Women's final four tickets are going for a higher rate than the men's (and people are paying the high price.)
It just shows that they are finally seeing how amazing these female athletes are.

I was amused that during one of the Iowa games this weekend, the tv crew was showing the decal on the floor where Caitlin broke the women's record and mentioned they have already had to replace it as almost every player on every team that has come through to play there (mens and womens) attempts to make that shot during pregame/practices.

Am also pleased that they are able to call the women's tournament March Madness and the Final 4. The NCAA did not allow this until like 2 years ago.

I’m annoyed because finding my women’s bracket is complicated but the men’s is super easy to find (on the app).

Agreed. The women are more fun to watch. Caitlin! Angel! Audi! Paige! It’s been so fun. But I’m SC all the way — Dawn Staley is a Philly girl and I love her.

Yeah, Purdue! I got stuck at the coaches’ table for the basketball banquet last week but did get intel for picking my office bracket (as I was completely clueless and picks were about to lock). I picked Purdue to win it all. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞
