I'm looking for an all around decent sneaker/tennis shoe for walking around, running errands, and such. No running or athletic activities. I prefer something with a flat insole (think Keds or Vans) and low profile--so no bulky running shoes. Almost but not quite minimalist. My walking shoes are LEMS Primal Trail shoes, but they are too airy for winter casual wearing. I've been cheaping out and buying Amazon Basics or these Target shoes:

Not those specific shoes but my son has been wearing his men’s Limas since July and they have held up really well. I would definitely buy another pair of Kiziks for him when needed.
He was a slip on Vans fan because he’d pick the easiest choice to get his feet into in the morning. This was a good compromise because I was tired of his Vans falling apart in 2-3 months.
I have the Kizik Vegas and I really like them. I don’t know what kind of magic is in them, but you really can put them on completely hands free. I wish they had a little more arch support, but I could put insoles in them I guess.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

I have 3 pairs of kiziks and I love them all. I brought my white leather Vegas ones on vacation and wore them walking around all day and did really well with them (I do put arch supports in them though). I also get compliments on how cute my mom and are all the time too.
I am so happy you asked this! I’ve been eyeing the Milan’s for awhile now. I’m the meantime I’ve purchased Sambas and Nike Waffles, both of which I love. BUT unless I’m going out for a full day, I always tend to throw on my 10 year old Converse Shorelines or a literal $10 pair of camo shoreline knock offs that I got from Walmart a few years ago. I actually like those both, but not for a lot of walking, hence being intrigued by Kiziks!
ETA they would have been perfect for this ATL trip because I only brought the Nikes, a nice pair of shoes for a dinner, and flip flops for the hotel room. I would have loved a pair of slip on walking shoes in place of the Nikes to run down to get coffee, breakfast etc.
But now I'm realizing how sad it is that I’m willing to spend another $100+ in order to not tie shoes…at least I tend to keep them for years?
I'm also glad you asked! I've been considering these for our trip to Japan - lots of walking as well as taking shoes off inside places. I might just bite the bullet!

I think these would be perfect for a situation where you’re donning and doffing shoes often.
Skechers also has an extensive line of shoes that so the same thing. I have a few older relatives who have pairs and love not having to bend over to put their shoes on. These may be more comfortable for extensive walking, though perhaps not quite as fashionable (though they do have tons of cute styles), and the price point is lower than Kizik. They are also carried in some stores, so you may be able to try some on in person if that’s important to you.
I have had three pairs. The most recent ones I got look a lot like Keds to me. They're the Irvine. I also have the Prague, and those are my absolute favorites. Both are really comfortable and I can walk forever in them, but the Prague is much cushier. And I think the Prague somehow goes with more outfits. Like I feel totally comfortable wearing those with jeans, sun dresses, skirts… pretty much anything short of a business suit. Yesterday I wore them with leggings, a tee, and a long jacket to run errands, and felt really cute.
(Note, I accidentally left my third pair in a hotel room on a business trip. It was snowy, they got wet, and I set them aside to dry then… promptly left them there. I almost cried. I loved those shoes.)
So, I ordered a pair yesterday, shortly after I posted in this thread…and they were delivered today! I just got home and they were on the front porch. I’m shocked by the speed!!

So I think 5 different people have used my referral code since I posted it... mommyatty, if you have yours to post I wouldn't be surprised if you get a few referrals too lol. Gotta love the ML peer pressure to shop!
In my pp I meant the Milan's were the ones I get compliments on being cute all the time, but I didn't notice the auto-correct to nonsense lol. With all my new coupon codes, I think I might need to get some Pragues, although I also wanted the hiking boot type ones for an upcoming camping trip I have with DD.

I had the same experience! I ordered them Friday night and they arrived Sunday afternoon. I've had them a few weeks now and they're so convenient and super comfortable. I had been looking at them for a while and I regret not buying them sooner.

LOL hey all you new Kizik wearers, anyone want to sign up for their referral program and post your link? I get a 20% off coupon every time someone uses my link, but I'm PRETTY sure I can only use 1 coupon at a time, and I think I've gotten about 10 from this post. So I doubt I will ever use that many (esp. since the pair I had been wanting to order is currently out of stock in my size!). Just trying to spread the coupon love. But if no one else posts a link, by all means keep using mine to get the coupon for yourselves!

lol you've started a trend. This thread got me to order some for DS who can tie shoes but can just not be bothered in the morning.
I really want a pair of these since vionic stopped making my clogs. Is there any issue with them being loose at the heel or slipping off?
I find they’re a little loose in the heel (like, looser than my New Balances), but not so much that they would slip off. The feel like other lightweight sneakers I’ve tried in the past - Adidas fresh foam or something like that. If the heel was slipping, I would think it was a sizing issue.
Another thing I’ve noticed after two days of wearing them (lol) is that the toe box is nice and wide, and doesn’t squeeze my toes.

I have super thin heels. If I tighten the laces, they magically don’t slip off my heels. All my other sneakers tend to slip and give me blisters, which is why I say “magically”. Especially since these are made to slip on and off!
UPDATE: I ordered the Irvine's using someone's referral code. So far so good! If I really like them in a few weeks, I plan to order them in another color. I'll come back here and get another referral code. I LOVE the tidepool color. It's not grey, black, or cream like most of my casual shoes. I like the black with the leather trim.
Someone I know called them "ugly and uncool." Maybe I'm old, but I don't think they are either! Then again, maybe I'm old and uncool. She said it with love as her other comment was chasing around 2 young kids, she needs to be able to get shoes on quickly.
