I am on the executive board of two PTAs (yes I know it was an insane choice) and i have my normal life stuff. I was using google calendar, but I need a better task list app. Something where i can keep a running list with due dates and reminders. I started using Microsoft To Do, but not sure its what i really want yet.

I recently started using Notion (notion.so). It is free for personal. I haven't really used the planning part yet but I like that I can create pages with notes, task lists etc.
Have you tried Google Tasks within the calendar? I like this if I am using a laptop or desktop because it can be pulled up as I am looking at my calendar and email which are basically up all day at work.
Otherwise, I use Todoist, and I like to use this on my phone.

This is my suggestion, too. I love the tasks. I also use colors for different categories of events on my Google calendar.

Yes I tried Google tasks but I don't use a computer most of the day just my phone and I sont see a way to get a big running task list vs just something tiny in my calendar lol.
But that could be a me issue.
Eta: I use a computer but my work and private can't mix.

I started using Artful Agenda this month and have found it very helpful so far for organizing life, my school (educator), and daughter’s schedule. The combined task list and features was very helpful for me as I had previously attempted to keep home life and work life tasks separate and it was driving me bonkers! This app is accessible via phone and computer and is very much like a paper planner but digital.
I have been using this system for over a decade and it works so well for me, but it is embarrassingly simple.
I keep a Google Word doc and write things down chronologically:
Wed Aug 28 @ 9:00: Dentist appointment Fri Oct 11-Sun Oct 13: Weekend beach trip Thu Dec 12 @ 16:00: School Christmas concert
That way when I'm looking to see if I'm free on a certain date I can quickly reference that one document.
If I need a push to do something at a certain time, say, make a phone call as soon as they open, I put that in my Google Calendar so my phone pops up a reminder.
I use the Notes app on my iPhone (developed by Apple). I can save and find any folder I create. My cousin uses it heavily so I got interested in its potential. I use it for lists, check off items when completed, attach docs, synch to calendar and reminders. I think you can add photos, too and scanned docs. My phone has a password, so it’s password protected, too. It’s really handy and useful.

At that point, couldn’t you try the Google Tasks app separately from the calendar? I use Notes in my iPhone specifically because reminders don’t go away if you don’t address them. I need that push!

I totally didn't realize their was a separate app! I have been using Microsoft todo and like it so far, but I will check out Google tasks. Thanks

This is what I’m also doing. I watched some YouTube videos about how powerful notes can be. Since it syncs across my phone and work computers, it’s been really useful for me to start making all kinds of folders and jotting ideas downs as they come up in my head. I even have some locked notes going of how my spouse wrongs me with no remorse just as a visual reminder of nonsense. I also started sharing notes between me and DD and her dad so the 3 of us could throw vacation plans all in one place.
I use Asana. You can use the website version or use the app on your phone. You can make a board for each area (personal, PTA, etc.) and then it will all integrate in your master to-do list.
I have the Asana widget on my Home Screen on both my phone and iPad so my upcoming tasks are always right there. It's also easy to add a task from that widget. I get an email every morning with my to-do list. I know the paid version has a lot of integrations but I only use the free version.

I use google calendar and just put everything in my calendar so tasks are scheduled within my calendar instead of a separate to-do list. All my different volunteering has their own color in the calendar, and so does work, and social engagements too. I also use Google Keep for grocery lists, packing lists etc.
