My work is a polling place on election day, so I generally don't vote early. I also broke my leg at the beginning of the month so I am hoping it is less painful to stand in line by that day.

Just a little dose of hopium for y'all--my mom and dad thought about early voting yesterday (which was the first day to do so in person in Wisconsin) and when they got there the line to vote early was TWO HOURS LONG. It's never taken more than a few minutes, even in 2020. Madison is the engine of Democratic voting in Wisconsin so the higher turnout we have here, the better news it is for winning the state.
I voted at my county board of elections today and the line was long but moved pretty fast-I think I was in and out in a little over half an hour? By the time I left the line was out of the building and down the sidewalk.

My brother voted today in central Ohio. ONE early voting place for the county (in an old Kohl's). It was packed. Not even the first day of early voting, but he said it was moving really fast and efficiently.
I drove by it last friday, and it was so full traffic was literally backing up on the street to the highway. Like nearly a mile. Hoping that's a good sign.
I haven't voted yet, but am going to get some friends together to vote and then go out to lunch.
Voting should be a national holiday. OR there should be laws to allow people extra time in their work day to vote. OR weekend voting. OR mail in voting.
It Should Not Be This Hard.
(Well, it's not for me since I'm in WA, an all-mail-in-ballots state. Wish every state could be like this.)
Surprisingly, in Texas, there are laws requiring employers to allow workers time to get to the polls.
We also have 2 Saturdays for early voting before November Elections.
Of course, with voter suppression, Paxton tries to skirt other efforts like increased polling locations, convenience polling locations (like the voting booths set up in the Texas Medical Center for the convenience of healthcare workers who work 12 hour shifts for Pete's sake). He has also tried to block drive up voting for disabled and elderly voters. He's an ass.
But to help get all the blue votes in Texas, our NRG (football) stadium is set up for voting! So i'm hoping that voter turnout will be good. NRG is right off the light rail line which has bus and other rail connections and METRO public transportation is free to/from the polls.
Update: the Elections office said the ballot will most likely come back. And if we don't get it by Thursday, to call, and they will reissue. They said this happens all the time; she had three calls about it before me.
Just got home from casting my vote! And promptly texted my H, sister and niece to get out there and do the same. There were maybe 5 people in there voting (I am in a town of 34,000) so in and out very quick. We are not in a swing state but our town and surrounding towns are red leaning so I told them to get out and vote even though MA is reliably blue. We can’t get complacent!
I vote in reliably blue OR, but I wanted to add my vote to what will at least hopefully be a landslide popular vote even if I fully expect shitpiggery from GOP everywhere.
According to a press conference help by the Michigan Secretary of State 1.5 million absentee ballots have been returned and 250k have voted early in person. That means 25% of registered voters have already submitted their ballots.
