Unfortunately, the fbi has actually been reluctant to go undercover with these far right groups. I've been meaning to post this. It probably deserves its own post

I listened to NPR's Fresh Air podcast interview with Anne Applebaum about her new book Autocracy, Inc. a couple of weeks ago and the part about the lying being the point was really chilling. Essentially, autocrats gain and prove their power by lying about everything, which causes further disengagement. I'm listening to the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich on audiobook right now. It's 60 hours long and goes into insane detail about the rise of Hitler. The parallels between the two men and how they operate with so much bravado and lying are horrifying. 

I'm reading The Golden Doves right now about WW2 and it's made me think a lot about Hitler lately and it's made me realize just how Hitler came to have power.  The parallels are insane.
