It wasn't even a home mailbox, but a mailbox at the post office. I have to imagine she had been asking them to review security tapes and was met with refusal, so she took the matter into her own hands. How vindicating for her, but absolutely frustrating she had to go to these lengths.

Yes! Someone used MH's credit card number to buy an iPhone and AT&T plan. He called the police and told them and they refused to ping the phone to locate and catch the person. Because MH was not the owner of the phone. Even though it had been purchased with his money, in his name. Make it make sense.
