I watched the first episode or two but didn't get into it. Then my friend was talking about it and convinced me to give it another try. I ended up really liking both seasons.
I think it’s a slow burn. I loved it. The character development, the story arc, how it showed the societal power dynamics. I thought it was awesome but my husband just couldn’t get into it.
I didn’t love season one but I LOVED season two! In fact I stopped watching season 1 exactly where you are and skipped to season 2. So maybe try that? 🤔
I loved both seasons and can’t wait for 3. I feel like if you don’t like the vibe now, you’re probably not going to like it going forward. But what don’t you like about it? If there’s something specific, maybe we can let you know if it changes as the season progresses.

Two was definitely better than 1 - the location, story, and characters were all so good.
Like as in boring? It does liven up a bit as the plot progresses, but it’s never going to be over the top dramatic or fast paced. It’s a more laid back drama with some humor.
I loved every minute of both seasons. I watched them twice! I thought it was really well done - the characters, the weirdness of the plots, the locations. Can’t wait for the next season.
I liked the first season and LOVED the second season.
If you’ve ever worked in the service industry, or you know rich asshole people, it makes it easier to appreciate the show. My favorite part of season one was the hotel manager. There’s a lot of hidden commentary about race, money, social hierarchy, etc.
Same as thejen626, I liked Season One although many of the characters were intentionally unsympathetic. Season One explored impact of wealth, colonialism and privilege on working class people. The first shows were mostly character development, and it improved as the plot unfolded.
Season Two was themed around lust and was funnier. It was easier to get into, in part, because of the return of Tanya.
I heard Season Three is supposed to focus on spirituality as its theme.
