I definitely had a barn jacket in high school in the 90s. My mom probably still has it in a closet somewhere. (To be fair I did live on a farm but the jacket was definitely more of a fashion choice).
I have a phone interview for a rescue dog in an hour and I'm nervous/excited. Its a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix and he sounds like he could be a really good fit for our family. Fingers crossed it works out!
lavenderblue, yikes - that's so creepy and invasive. I'm glad you're on top of things
I have a shihtzu mix and he’s the best. Every shih tzu I’ve dog sat has been lovely too.
TR so they wanted you to delete whatever they talked about after shit talking you? And just forgot that they had gossiped about you first?
Sorry that happened. People are messy.
I think she was hoping I'd cut it off before I heard them shit talking lol but it was IMMEDIATELY after I hung up so there was no way to miss it unless I stopped the recording in the middle of me saying goodbye.

I had an hour long FaceTime call with the dog and his foster and I’m in love. He seems absolutely perfect for us. We’re driving out there Sunday so the whole family can meet him and if all goes well we’ll take him home with us ❤️ I’m really glad we didn’t take the golden doodle puppy that a friend needed to rehome a couple weeks ago. This is most definitely a better fit for our family.
I don't want to start a whole new post for this. Are those Plaid Shackets that were popular last year still going to be in this year? I never took the plunge last year and was considering buying one, but I don't want to me that chick who's behind on the fashion trends LOL
It’s all about the barn jacket this season.
So this means my 20 year old winter jacket I wear to the stables to work with horses, clean stalls, ride, and such will be in?? Sweet! I hope hay on the collar is in, too!

I still have my barn jacket from my twenties too! I can barely button it ha ha and my DD likes it. Since we live in a southern state jackets last here until I can't fit in them. Perimenopause is helping push that along faster
I asked if everything was ok and he was like yeah, she just wants to ask about school starting.
E HAS HER OWN PHONE! Why can’t your mother just call her grandchild and ask how school went?! I said, tell your mom to call her. That’s what my mom does. Cut the middle man shit out.
Between this and the cat room, I swear my MIL’s faculties are declining. Make it make sense.
I will definitely not be buying a barn jacket. I think I am at the age where I no longer "get" fashion because I hate 95% of what I see to buy, and the other 5% looks like duplicates of stuff I own already. I've been very into t shirts and jeans in recent years because at least they are something to wear.
When I wfh I always shower, usually mid day, but if I don't have meetings I don't do anything with my hair or put on makeup. I rarely do makeup even when I do have meetings anymore, but I at least put product in my hair and let it air dry curly so it looks ok. I stick to the aforementioned t shirts and comfy bottoms for clothing.

DD tested positive for COVID today, I got a super faint line and was sick last week with what felt like a super mild cold, so I guess I'm on the tail end. We just left my parents on Sunday and my dad also tested positive today. DD was supposed to have back to dance camp with her dance team in the evenings until Thursday, she's so bummed to miss it. I assume she'll miss the first day of school on Thursday, but I don't really understand all the Covid rules anymore. I'm just going to test her each morning and go from there.
I also went back to work this morning after a 2.5 week vacation, and had to leave midday when DD called me bawling about her throat, I feel super bad that I may have spread covid around. I'm going to WFH tomorrow which is always super fun when DD is home too.
If you work a fully remote job do you "get ready" every day?
I kind of like being forced into dressing for the office twice a week.
Yep every day. But in the Netherlands (and maybe Europe?) all meetings are video calls so everyone sees me every day anyways haha.
This is interesting to me because all of my online meetings are also always with everyone on video. But then people here talk about how it's weird to always have to have your camera on. Different cultures I guess! (Even though the one client we have in the US also keeps video on with us, but maybe that's because we're external?)
I'm getting real sick of H having doctoral class every Tuesday night until 8:30 or 9, and I have to deal with this for 2 years straight. Ugh. It's not like I can't handle being alone or I can't parent alone, it's just... annoying? lol. IDK. I just felt trapped tonight- I really wanted to get a walk in this evening (it was way too hot during the day) but I couldn't leave until he got home, so I was just out roaming the neighborhood at 9pm to get some more steps in, lol.
I also somehow keep stupidly deciding to make complicated dinners when he isn't here. Tonight I made shrimp tacos with peach salsa which required a lot of chopping and then I had to clean everything up, and DS was wanting to play and I was annoyed at how much kitchen stuff I had to do, just dumb on my part. They were good though!

I'm on camera all day long and at this point I don't even care anymore. Thank you Zoom filters lol. I own zero makeup. I do take a shower every morning before work and make sure my ponytail looks semi decent at least.

I think it's somewhat work culture dependent. It's pretty rare for someone to be off-camera on a meeting at my work, too, unless it's an all-staff or other large meeting where most people are just listening in. If it's between people who are actually speaking, everyone is usually on camera.
I'm glad. I get that there are disability related reasons why some people need or want to be off camera, but I hate talking to black screens all the time. Seeing faces is so much more similar to in-person interaction than a phone call or Teams call without video.

I love this. I adopted mine at 5 and he’s amazing. He’s 14 now and I call him my little world traveling dog because he’s always on adventures with us.
