I've been working a LOT lately. I'm trying to pay down as much debt as possible because my oldest college loan/tuition has been dispersed so I want to get to a point where my 2nd jobs wages go straight to the loan.
So I'm working my 2nd job 3-8 today and 8-3 tomorrow. Because of this, I had to get all of my weekly housework done before my shift today. I'm tired already!! haha
At least I'm working the garden register today and tomorrow. It's gorgeous out.
We watched the Hannah Einbinder (from Hacks) comedy special on HBO last night, and while I adore her on Hacks, her standup routine was BAD. Like, during the whole hour I think we only laughed 3-4 times. Maybe it's because I'm old, but everything just felt super awkward and cringe rather than funny, and even the live audience wasn't laughing as much as you usually hear during comedy specials.
Funny story, we watched Hacks and then H put this on the next night and for probably 70% of it I thought it was some weird special episode of Hacks and she was her character lol I also didn’t find it very funny.

We tried to watch and lasted 10 minutes. Not funny at all.
At a HS football game last night, a student was crying in the bathroom because she started her period unexpectedly. I didn't have anything on me, but I went to the concession stand and between all the moms, someone had an extra pad that I was able to take to her.
It made me angry that there weren't pad/tampon machines in the stadium. I'd like to explore asking the HS to install something (and offer to donate a machine, money, etc for that purpose if they say no.) Our state mandates that period essentials be made free to student, but not how (and therefore I wonder if people just didn't think of the stadium?) Grant funding exists for this too according to our state, but not sure how easy the funds are to access.
So, who do you think I would ask? Athletic Director? Principal/VP? School nurse? Where would you start? Any advice?
Principal is probably the right answer, but this is something that would be right up our AD’s alley.
It’s 60 degrees here today and I love it! I’m sad we’re going back to the high 80s next week. I’m hiding inside while my husband assembles the 12 foot skeleton and his pet dog for me.
tacokick, I thought of you this morning! Lucy and I are right now taking a break at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We saw the Mary Cassatt at Work exhibition. There was a painting id never seen before of a woman working a tapestry, as well as women knitting, crocheting and embroidering. I guess the textile arts make me think of you 💕💕
Oh nice!! That looks like a great exhibition.
And I’m flattered to be thought of in conjunction with the fiber arts! ☺️
Entrelac! It was good! One of the better organized classes I’ve been to.
I hate entrelac. I was trying on my own though, maybe it would make more sense in a class.
Yeah, I think a class is the way to go for entrelac, it really doesn’t make sense until you are pretty far along. The instructor had a color coded pattern that was broken down into easy chunks and was right there to get you back on track which helped. We all got through a good chunk by the end. Trying on my own sounds like it would end in tears lol
It’s 57 and rainy today so I decided to make roast chicken with all the trimmings aka ‘mini-Thanksgiving’. I am reading my book and just lit my leaves candle, so I’m basically in heaven. It will be back up to ninety degrees by Wednesday so I’m enjoying my little slice of Fall while I can.

I’m sitting in curbside to get cat food. I feel like a jerk, since I typically can get it myself. My shoulder is killing me today and didn’t want to chance maneuvering the bag. All the guilt went away when a man pulled in the only open curbside spot left and parked. Who parks in a curbside pickup!?

Assholes
One of the Krogers near me someone is always parked in the pick up lane. People are assholes.

Not once have I thought about it. I would assume it was an accident, but it’s clearly labeled. If you can’t see the large ass signs and painted lanes then maybe you shouldn’t drive.
We got new carpets in the bedrooms this week and almost everything is back where it belongs but it has me triggered wanting to make other improvements. DH and DS are hiding.

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen this! It makes me so mad
Renn Faire was awesome! I’m exhausted. Sitting with my feet up all evening.
Awhile back, I asked for book charity suggestions or a funeral donation . I ended up going with Reading is Fundamental. My friend sent me a thank you today along with a picture of the card they sent. The special message was “Maybe name spirit live on in book!” (Exactly, not even ‘s.)
Maybe? Maybe?! Maybe only works with “Maybe name’s spirit *will* live on.” But I’m 99% sure I meant to type “May name’s spirit live on.”

I have had a great day thus far. I slept in (and got good sleep!), and this afternoon I went to an hour+ reflexology and pedicure. I love this place so much. This is my second vist there and they.are.amazing. A great massage on arms/hands, and legs/feet. Then pedicure. I wish I could get it every week.
Then I had a quick lunch & did a little shopping. Now we are chilling, cooking dinner & waiting for the game to start. I guess I should work on chores at some point!
Our bike ride was great. The new (to us) trail was relatively flat, right on a lake with fancy houses and pretty land scaping, a cool breeze, and relatively little traffic.
Now I've done a short healthy back yoga class and I'm hanging out on the deck. I have my Kindle, but mostly I'm just enjoying being outside and poking around on my phone.

underwaterrhymes I agree. One of my favorite funny euphemisms for sex is “bumping uglies” because it’s so true. Why do so many men send unsolicited dick pics when hardly any women actually want them, especially when they hardly know them?!! (anecdotal data provided by all my single friends)
