I lived in Hershey, and I might be misremembering, but I feel like Mechanicsburg was only minutes from Hershey.  If that is true, you might be better off going a bit out of your way for the cute, touristy area of Hershey.

No worries! I thought it was near Hershey too when I booked in Mechanicsburg and was surprised when it wasn’t!

I know someone with the last name Stone, first initial R. In residency, their user names or whatever were last name then first initial. To this day anyone they were in residency with affectionately calls them Stoner.

My college's email formula was was:

First two letters of last name + First two letters of first name + Year you started school.

It was a poor formula for the poor Alyssa Andersons of the world, and somehow there were so many.

Mine was "scam", so not much better.

I walked into a first year teacher's classroom while she was being observed by the principal & teaching coach (my boss & supervisor). I feel like it took me forever to figure out why the classroom teacher was ignoring me (usually they look at the opened classroom door and acknowledge you quickly). All three of the staff in the room ignored me until I got the hint and left quietly. Whoops. I felt bad and sent the teacher an apology email.

My college ID was my social security number. My first ID hass it right on there! My friend’s dad made us burn them off and then called the security office to tell them how bad of an idea it was. We got new ones within the week 🤣

Mine too and I’m pretty sure it’s the reason I’ve been a victim of identity theft twice and why my SSN is on the dark web. It had to be the SSN on the college ID that we had to show everywhere, like multiple times a day at the dining hall, or the student loan paperwork mailed to my parent’s house (stolen from their mailbox?). My college graduation gift was coming home to a stack of mail which was full of credit cards that the fraudster signed up for on a 2-day multi-state shopping spree with my identity!

You’ll find better food in Harrisburg but in Mechanicsburg I like Chalit and Thea. Black & Blue is also usually decent but I haven’t been there for awhile. As for late night eats you can go to Wendy’s or Taco Bell. Literally I can’t think of anything open after 9 unless it’s a weekend and even then maybe 10. If you have any other questions let me know.

My maiden name was Johnson. As the second most common name in the us, this is not doxing myself 🤣 Anyway, my first email address at school, I got [first initial]johnson. That is my flex, large university and I got the Johnson with no numbers!

In general, I like sharing knowledge and helping people work through stuff (especially giving confidence to DIY). But in the past 24 hours, I have texted friends (multiple) through:
1 what to do when a CO detector goes off (and the stops)
2 how to find the breakers for your hvac unit
3 ear pain
4 water heater leaks and resulting water damage

Im tired.

Thanks! It’s a weird schedule. I’m driving in and then in a class 6-9 pm the first day and then the next day I’m tied up from 7:30 am-6 pm with a gap for lunch. Maybe the first day I will just have a huge early dinner/late lunch and get a snack for later?

My neighbor passed away unexpectedly last night. I don’t know him well or his wife. I still get choked up looking at their packed driveway and all the people in and out. I told H we need to buy extra salt this winter and make sure we check in more often.

As I posted yesterday, both my cats have fleas. I tried a spray treatment last night (was waiting on the oral treatment I ordered from Amazon to get here) and it most certainly didn't work. I decided I'm not fucking around so I just called the vets of both cats this morning (long story short, they have different vets because I never switched the new one over to mine yet). I'm picking up an Rx for one cat as soon as I can get a break from work and the other cat is being seen tomorrow (she has shots due anyway so I had to do a visit).

In the meantime, what can I do? Is there really a point to cleaning the entire house and washing all the bedding if I can't treat both cats until tomorrow? I did already start washing the bedding before thinking of this so I guess I'll be doing it multiple times.

I keep finding them on my ankles and I feel like the most disgusting human being ever. I feel very out of control and keep bursting into tears because this is gross. I seriously feel like I might be going crazy.

When we moved into our first house a few weeks after settlement. It had previously been occupied by pets with fleas and those bastards were hungry. 

We treated it as a full-on infestation. We had the cat professionally groomed and boarded for a short time. An exterminator bombed the house. After that we went back and vacuumed/wiped down everything we couldn't wash in hot water. This took care of the live fleas, but as the eggs hatched (as we were warned they would), we had to repeat the process. 

It was expensive and inconvenient, but effective.
