I got my Covid and flu vaccines about 2 weeks ago and my arm was so sore! I prob said the same thing last year lol, but it caught me by surprise as I couldn’t sleep on that side for 2 nights and didn’t do my planned arm workout the morning afterwards. But otherwise all good. My partner was totally unphased/unaffected.
I just got my COVID and flu shots yesterday and omg my arm hurts so much today. I got them done one on each arm and the COVID side definitely hurts the worst. No other side effects. Every time I get the shots they seems to have different side effects, I'm hoping this goes away soon but I guess it could be worse.

For under 12, I was able to book @ CVS but it was a few days after they opened up for the over 12s. This time the sore arm was the main side effect for the other 3 in my home (10, 14, and late 40s). We have a ton in the schools and wanted to do the Covid vax asap. I had it 8/30 so I’ll get mine before the holidays.
We will do flu mid October this year. Trying to get back to mid/late Oct since we keep getting a late spring surge of influenza at our schools.
Got my Covid shot last Friday and felt like crap the next day, but was fine by Sunday. Got my flu shot today, hoping it isn’t too bad tomorrow-usually flu shots don’t knock me out (knock on wood). Next year I am going to do both at once and just deal with it all together. My husband got both of his last Sunday and he was down for the count Monday, fine by Tuesday.
We mandate it at my work. (Not covid anymore, because... Texas).
To kick off the flu vaccination season I gave all my team members "care packages" of an N95 mask, 2 individually wrapped surgical masks, a package of travel tissues, and a hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works in a scent I thought they'd like (and i had a couple extra in case they wanted to swap out).
I'm a nerd. I like to gift treats. Trying to do stuff other than food.
Novavax is being hailed as highly effective and having limited symptoms. (It’s approved for 12 and older.)
How do I find a place that has novovax? I want to try it for the lower side effects, but I couldn’t find it last year.
Costco is supposed to have them. You don't need to be a member to use their pharmacy. My H and I both got Novavax last year. My H has bad side effects from Pfizer and Moderna, and he had none from Novavax.

DH, DS2, DD, and I got covid and flu shots last Friday. Had to take DD to a different pharmacy than us to get her covid shot as the pharmacy we use weren't doing them yet for the under 12 set. DH got sick as usual. DS1 also gets sick, so he is getting his in Oct the day before a professional development day, so a day off school. He also does not have a cross country meet that weekend. While he will miss a practice or two at least it's not a meet.

We got both flu and covid 2ish weeks ago. Only side effect for us was a sore, bruised arm.
I need to tell my mom to look for Novavask. She has the WORST reactions/sode effects for 24 hours after her covid boosters. But she also had covid recently so she can wait a bit yet.

CVS says they have it but I have heard some people have gone and despite being able to pick it on the site, they don’t actually have it when they show up.

I just signed up for my flu jab - we are not offered the possibility of a Covid injection in England unless you are very old or unwell on the NHS, though you can pay around £100 for it privately. I might try to see if living with my MIL means we could get it for free or reduced cost.

I just signed us all up for the Covid shot. They only let you register for one vaccine, but it says you can ask for others when you get there. I'm hoping we can all get the flu shot too. I managed to find a weekend before a week with no sports conflicts.
Whole family just got both of ours at CVS. No clue which one it was. these were the third and fourth vaccines I got this week, as I got Hep B and pneumonia vaccines on Tuesday.
@@@ We usually do okay, but with DD having POTS, you just never know how she'll react to anything.
We all got ours last Friday. I had to explain to the CVS employee that bc she is 11, my daughter should get a different dose. He didn’t believe me and I had to insist he bring the pharmacist in. So that was weird.
Got mine yesterday and last night was terrible. So so sick, but this AM my arm is just a little sore. I’ve got to try novovax next year. Moderna is the worst!

Even in my state the Covid vaccine isn’t mandatory. Where I work (3 different clinical settings) the flu vaccine isn’t actually mandatory. You can opt out and then are required to wear a mask once flu season is declared until it ends. I asked lawyers at the main site where I work if the covid vaccine would have similar guidelines but they said not as of now until it comes from the city or state department of health.
The kids and I got our covid shots yesterday! I have my flu shot scheduled for tomorrow at work, and I'll take the kids back to the same pharmacy we went to yesterday for flu shots since we've got another mostly clear weekend then. My husband is planning on doing what he did last year and going to CVS to get both shots in the next week or two. All 3 of us have sore arms, and Kid #2 ran a temp for a couple hours this morning and been somewhat low key all day but that could be due to not sleeping well last night.
I had an appointment with my PCM on Friday, and as I was checking in, the nurse offered me both the flu and COVID (Pfizer) vaccines while I waited for the doc to come in! It was amazing. My arms were a little sore, but honestly I had no negative side effects from either.
C and H had COVID maybe 6 weeks ago. I guess I thought they had to wait, but reading this thread it seems like they don’t have to. We might wait another few weeks on them though to capitalize on some of their increased immunity, and so the vaccines will hopefully get them through the worst of the winter.

Our hospital used to mandate it. If you look up the hospital mandates nationwide you'll see a hospital in Houston was the first in the nation to mandate it and others followed. Then Abbott and his cronies passed a law that forbids organizations from mandating it.

Can someone talk this through with me? I'm getting my covid booster with my flu shot in about a week and half (early October). I also have a pretty big travel situation in mid-April where I will be around a lot of people all the time.
Worth it to get a second booster before my April travel?
I know I *can* but I don't see anything online that says whether it would be beneficial.

Not a clinician, but our employee health department that dispenses boosters would say you probably only need a booster in the variants change from what your shot covers. I'd ask your doctor and whomever is administering the shot.
I got my flu/Covid vaccines last year on October 3. Does the Covid vaccine have to be 1 year later or will no one at the pharmacy check or even care about this? If no one will care, I'll book it this week.

No one at your pharmacy will care. At least not in the US.
