I don't thnk I ever signed up, but back in maybe 2012, one of the original creators was at the local uni and came to our meetups and would bring their newest versions he and his friends for shiggles and feedback (we were definitely the target audience) before it caught on so widely with a bajillion spinoffs. He did talk about how one of the first decisions they made was to make it open source. Cool guy, albeit strange as one would expect

As an aside, there's a guy who used to live down the street from me who moved across the country to work for Space X. He tried to sell his house for way more than it's worth (if he had maintained it, sure, but it is completely wrecked and needs TONS of work. Structurally and substantial landscaping, not just some new paint), refused a really generous cash offer, and now more than a year later, it sits vacant. He doesn't take care of the yard, so it looks terrible. Weeds, foot tall (or more) grass, invasive trees in the yard. Just wrecked. And in the meantime, the HOA is charging his ass for unpaid fines, annual dues, etc.

He just refuses to deal with it at all. Even changed his number to try to avoid anyone from our neighborhood calling him to tell him to deal with his house.

So knowing him, and that he now works for Space X, I can say this all tracks. I hope CAH takes them to the cleaners.

I just searched my email for "Cards Against Humanity Saves America" and found the order from 2017.
