The investigation that led to the indictment has focused in part on whether the mayor conspired with the Turkish government to funnel illegal foreign donations into his coffers in exchange for pressing the Fire Department to approve a new, high-rise Turkish consulate in Midtown despite safety concerns. It first spilled into public view in November. That’s when F.B.I. agents searched the homes of Adams’s chief fundraiser, his liaison to the Turkish community and a former Turkish Airlines executive who had served on his transition committee. But the investigation began years earlier, during his 2021 mayoral campaign.

Adams' lawyer, Alex Spiro, said in a statement: "We have known for some time that they would try to find a way to bring a case against Mayor Adams. Yesterday -- more improper leaks. Today -- they emailed us a summons (and created the spectacle of a bogus raid). And very soon they will no doubt hold an hour-long dog-and-pony show presser rather than appear in open court."

He continued, "Federal judges call them out all the time for spinning in front of the cameras and tainting jurors. But they keep doing it because they can’t help themselves, the spotlight is just too exciting. We will see them in court.”

Who is "THEY" that his attorney is referring to? Is it the DOJ??

Oh I will be shocked if he resigns and yes, he’ll change parties since he will assuredly lose the D primary.

The New York to Chile thing is absolutely killing me.
