This lady was digging in her yard and found a huge rug that was rolled up and buried deep in her yard. She was going to dig it up on her own, but then posted a video on tiktok and everyone told her to call the police in case it was a body. So, the police came and eventually brought cadaver dogs, and the dogs signaled at the rug. So now they are digging it up today.
She had been posting leading up to this that she thought her house was haunted (I don't believe in ghosts, but kind of crazy). Her name is @katiesantry if anyone wants to follow. Hopefully it ends up being nothing. Or maybe the house is old and it is an old family plot?
Ha, I just posted in randoms about it. I saw her first video days ago and was like, huh, crazy wacky lady your house is not haunted and then I was like, this a bit but now actual cops and media are at her house and I'm gripped.

Right? I was like well my house has a ton of random stuff buried beneath it (they basically bulldozed the previous structure and poured dirt on top)

At one point she said they had been digging all around the yard for the fence and didn't come across anything else, but that makes sense. I need this to get solved so that my algorithm goes back to men in eyeliner pretending to be JD Vance.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
Ok I saw circa1978's post in randoms. I have done a deep dive in the past half hour so I'm practically an expert now.
The first video I watched, I was sure it was a bit. She was way too perky about the whole thing.
But then I went back and watched from the beginning, and saw how her vibe changed after the dogs hit, and now I think she's genuine.
I really don't think they are going to find a body, but it's a bizarre story. Especially the "bloodgood" tree planted above it. Like, if this was a novel that detail would be flagged as "too unbelievable."
But I'm still really invested in how this is going to end. I feel like it's going to be nothing and she is going to deeply regret starting this bc they are doing a lot of expensive damage to her property.
It hit my FY page and I paid no attention since it was just run-of-the-mill “look what I found in my might-be-haunted backyard”. UNTIL I got a boatload of reaction videos saying “OH MY GOD THE 2nd CADAVER DOG SSSSAAAAAATTTTT DDDDOOOOWWWWNNNN TOOOOO!”
So, I’m on board the mystery reveal.
And of course, The Afternoon Tea Lady. Gosh, she is savage. I’ve never wanted to go for afternoon tea more (or really ever) in my life!
livinitup, Oh, I am also on that side of tiktok lol. I got hooked on afternoon tea when I took a stupid long cruise on Holland America. It is delightful.

I think she was perky in the beginning because she just thought it was someone’s garbage (which would be the mostly likely scenario) and didn’t actually think it would be anything. Like seeing shoes on the side of the highway and joking the owners were abducted by aliens.
I don’t envy the clean up! At least they did want to put a fence in so maybe they can roll that into the clean up?
I was just watching the live stream and it is taking me back to my days as a cops reporter having to stand there for hours during this sort of thing. I just saw a cop eat something while standing above the dig area and that tracks.

A lawn company offered to repair it for her in the comments.

Oh yeah, this reminds me of the year when the cop side of my family and the medical side of my family were comparing "worst thing you ever saw on the job" stories over Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not a delicate flower, but I really didn't appreciate that at the dinner table...
I actually don’t think burying a rug is that uncommon. Not everyday but I think people use junk to fill holes when doing work and/or don’t want to pay to have things hauled away more than you’d think.
There is always some urban archeology going on at a park near my house where there used to be a farm and they find household items (even big ones) buried all the time from all eras from the homeowners to people using the park as a dumping ground for trash.
