There is company lore at my work that at the very beginning of Covid there was a meeting for upper management. Not having in person meetings was very new for everyone. Previously any conference calls we had were audio only so being on camera was very new to everyone. One of said upper managers forgot he was on camera and stood up - not only was he not wearing pants, he was also not wearing underwear and everyone saw his parts. lol since hearing that story I am so paranoid I will make a similar mistake that I won’t even take a meeting without putting on a bra.
This makes me feel a thousand times better about a few weeks ago when I was on a staff call in a spaghetti strap nightgown (obviously bra-less) when I heard my boss say “dancingnancy, I don’t think you mean to have your camera on” 😩
When I was working from home, I lived in denim shorts and usually a t-shirt. Then again, my work computer didn't even have a camera, so I knew I was never going on video. However, a camera would have just changed the shirt. I also find I am more productive in shorts than anything else. One of my friends who did sometimes have to take video calls usually worked with literally nothing on. My mind will not engage that way.
I think the definitions of "worked" and "during work hours" are key to this question. What even are work hours anymore? I've called in to a good number of 5am meetings, and I could not tell you whether I was in a robe, pjs, or actual pants.
