Tw
I just watched the clip of Andrew Garfield talking to Elmo about missing his Mom and it is one of the sweetest things ever. Just a real genuine conversation. Definitely a top Sesame Street moment for me.
I live in a city on a busy road. I looked out our front window this morning and there was a buck strolling through the yard. Not sure where he came from since we don’t have a wooden area near by. I was worried he was going to get hit by a car but he seems to have run off somewhere safe for now.

Having a slow morning after a very long work week. We had layoffs on Monday and my workload will Increase significantly. Trying to take today to relax before I take tomorrow to get myself organized and ready for the new gig on Monday.
DS is going to his first Bar Mitzvah tonight and is so excited. He won’t know many people there so I hope he has as much fun as he is expecting.
Today is the marathon and I like to escape the city for that so we are heading out of state to go to an “artisan” craft fair. The vendors look pretty good and I’m looking for some odds and ends for the house.
It’s supposed to get up to 72° and sunny so might as well take advantage. But it’s pretty chilly now! I’m not ready for cold weather.
I’m sitting in my hotel room getting up the motivation to find a good walking trail close by. My aunt’s funeral is this afternoon so I need to get outside before that. I flew in yesterday and spent the evening with my uncle which was awesome. I really like my uncle, he’s funny and sarcastic but also just a really good guy. He thanked me for coming at least 3 times last night. I’m slightly anxious about seeing my sister this afternoon, I haven’t seen her in almost 6 years since our mom died and we have a strained relationship.
We discovered a dead opposum in our garage last night!
I noticed a slight odor a few days ago. I also saw my dog going crazy sniffing around in there. I assumed it was a mouse or something and looked around but couldn't see anything. With work, I didn't have a lot of time to deep search either. ai mentioned to DH we need to clean it out this weekend.
Well yesterday, it got bad! DH stopped and grabbed some disposable gloves and went looking last night. It was an opposum!! It was curled up under the wheel of an old wagon we have that I use to bring trash to dumpster from time to time.
He also found 3 areas of blood trails (we think our cat must've attacked it). thank goodness he found it and cleanedit all up because the odor is now gone. phew. I have to walk through to do laundry and frankly, I didn't need to see a dead animal. lol
We are watching my friends 3 year old this afternoon. I have not watched a 3 year old in YEARS! Luckily it’s a nice day and the park is within walking distance we have Disney and coloring books and a few activities.
We are heading to a beer festival today! The weather is perfect so I am looking forward to being outdoors and enjoying friends today. I have to leave in less than an hour, so once I finish my coffee I am going to have to hustle to get ready.
I took my dog for a 40 minute walk already today so I'm feeling in an extra good mood. I love this time of year and I'm loving having a dog to force me outside more. I am pretty lazy by nature so I haven't always been good at doing that on my own, but the fresh air and exercise is so good for us both!

We had a friend and her 6 year old over last night into today (she's leaving now at 4pm). I told my H that we may need to not have someone over for 24 hours starting on a Friday afternoon because I need some downtime between my work week and people being in our space. Later on Friday or Saturday, would be even better. I'm currently people'd out and want to do nothing for the rest of the weekend (other than walking the dog tomorrow - I did it twice already to get out of the house despite being a bit tired).
...and queue mom guilt. My mom took DS to soccer and they put him in as goalie. I can't believe I'm missing this. I might be crying under the dryer.
You need you time. Reframe this, you are giving your Mom this experience with your DS. I bet she appreciates getting him on her own like this. You are a great Mom and a great daughter.

I mean, we live in her house while I wait to finalize my divorce. She sees him plenty LOL.
But I definitely appreciate the sentiment and my hair looks fabulous. ❤️
Last night, I went for what was supposed to be happy hour with a friend at 4, and didn't come home until 10, lol. She and I hung out for awhile just the two of us, then her kids joined us for dinner, then they left and I stayed at the bar talking with other friends, and then I ran into two guys I used to work with years ago so I ended up hanging out with them for a couple more hours and going to a few more bars. H and DS were just at home, as H was trying to finish up a final paper for a class. I had fun, felt a little guilty being gone that long, but I kinda feel I deserved it after handling all of this shit at home in the past few weeks and always dealing with H being busy with grad school.
Tonight we're going to a housewarming party. I'm going to make maple brown sugar cookies from Sally's Baking Addiction that are always a hit.
I worked out, and H went for a hike with a friend. Just kind of hanging around here until the party then.
We went to a local seafood festival today. I’m realizing it needs to be an every other year thing. It’s all the same stuff each year. It does get us out and we went with my parents. The food is good.
E has a Halloween party with her dance company tonight. Not sure what DH and I will do.
I need to see if I need to get DH a shirt for pictures next weekend. A nap is calling my name.

Took L for a haircut this morning, which he loved. I usually cut it myself, but we wanted a bit more of an actual style. This was his second time with my hairdresser, and he clearly just feels so grown up and fancy when he gets to go to her instead of having mom do it!
Then we all went to a new dog cafe nearby. They have outside space with balls and agility obstacles, and all the dogs can be off leash just hanging out and playing. Lazy dog walking for the win.
Tonight some of the daycare moms and I are getting together for drinks. We have a good group of cool women who've become friends, so I'm looking forward to it.

It's been a quiet weekend which is so needed after the crazy of my birthday party last weekend with 60 guests and my out of town family in.
I went to hot yoga and walked our dog and read my book club book. Going to donate some clothes, watch my nieces swim meet and take pictures of our daughter before her homecoming dance. My husband is grilling us salmon. I'll watch dateline and hope to be asleep by 10...
Wr have a fall festival at the park across from my house. There was a Harris/Waltz booth there and I got a lawn sign. I was crossing the street to go back home and a cop stopped traffic for me. I thanked him and he said “If you were carrying the other side I wouldn’t have let you go.” Guys. A cop. Maybe it’s going to be ok?
We had a busy but fun morning. Our city does a dog trick or treating event every year downtown, and I love it. We went to a bunch of businesses with our dog (in a costume of course) where she got treats and toys and lots of pets from people. She loves it! She's such a good girl, she goes right in and sits down at the counters waiting for her treat. All of our kids dressed up too and had fun dog watching and getting some candy too!
Probably going to chill/do chores for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we're going apple picking again with some friends. Couldn't ask for better weather for fun fall activities!

Different take: He’s going to have the best time telling you about this!
Update on the twatwaffle who was following my DD around telling her Jesus doesn’t want her to be gay. Karma is my favorite. Tuesday he broke his arm at a football game. I’m not sad. Also not sad the kid who tackled him and broke his arm didn’t get flagged and laughed at him. Also considering recommending my twelve year old tell him the curse was worth every penny we paid for it. Don’t jack with my kid.

Slow day over here and I need it so bad. Slept til 10:30, drinking coffee while watching college football, kids are both still in bed. Going to walk the dog, clean up all the clothes on my floor and then head to a poker tournament I’m helping out with.
Also, this is probably on the same level as Disney adults, but I would love to be there when the new universal Orlando park opens in May. I have no idea why, I just want that feeling of, I was there when…
I live in a city on a busy road. I looked out our front window this morning and there was a buck strolling through the yard. Not sure where he came from since we don’t have a wooden area near by. I was worried he was going to get hit by a car but he seems to have run off somewhere safe for now.
I also live in a city (small city, but still), and my neighborhood is flanked by two busy roads. I see deer all the time. And people on Next Door are constantly posting about drivers needing to slow down because they can't bear to see injured/dead deer on the side of the road. It's sad and also expected unfortunately 😕 we have people asking to hunt deer in suburban back yards. You can actually get a permit for that from our local pd (still have to ask permission of the property owner).
I've come to think of deer as giant squirrels. They've adapted to the environment that humans created and are just living the lives they were dealt.
...I still take pictures and get all fluttery every time I see them. Bambi generation?

It’s rut right now so the bucks are craaaazy chasing the does. It’s pretty rare to see them any other time of year! But yeah they will travel far to mate as many times as they can and car/deer collisions go way up this time of year bc the does run away and the bucks chase and none of them give any fucks!
Got through DD's ITS fall fest earlier today (I'm on the booster board so had to be there the whole time), had about an hour at home to take a breath and get ready to head to DS's soccer game 45 minutes away. Waiting on that to start, then Greek for dinner nearby.
Still need to get a grocery order together so I can pick up early in the morning and actually have food to host my parents for lunch for my mom's birthday tomorrow 🫠

Last night we went with friends to a new cocktail bar and I had a delicious drink. But then I woke up with a headache. I feel so old.
I got my hair done today, had H take a new "headshot" of me for work things (like Teams photo, etc. because my current photo is 2.5 years old and from when I still had purple hair), ran errands. We're going to have a chill night tonight. Grill out and watch the movie Woman of the Hour on Netflix.
