Chess club starts today after school and DS is excited. I'm grateful that the PTA organized this for kids like DS who don't play sports. DS has struggled to find an activity that he enjoys and that I can get his dad on board with. I'm hoping his dad allows him to participate on his weeks since this is at the school and he can work in his classroom while DS does this once a week.
We're in the fun part of the soccer season where everyone needs to figure out what's happening next year. Both of my kids probably need to find a new club but I just found a new one for DD1 this year and I really don't feel like doing this again.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Goodness why wouldn’t he allow him? He is already there. I am pre-judging him if he does not.

I tried to get him on board with guitar lessons and a robotics team, which were a 30 minute drive away from our town. His main complaint was that it took away from his time with DS. I'm hoping that since this is at the school that he will be on board.
supertrooper1, didn't your XH do the same thing for the play thing your DS was in last spring that was at school. I can't wait for your DS to tell his dad he doesn't want to spend any time with him since he won't do what he likes to do.
I just found out my tax update class is the same weekend as one of DD's meets in January. Luckily it is a zoom class, but I may be zooming from the gym. My fingers are crossed that DD gets any session other than Saturday as this is a 4-day meet.

186momx, yes, it's similar. The play was at the school and PTA put out that it was M-F during my time so I signed him up without asking his dad. But when play week came, it included Saturday which was during his time, so technically I should have asked in advance. I get why he was upset, but geez, our son doesn't have any activities and he didn't have anything planned, so it shouldn't have been a big deal.

DD2 came home from her first dance team practice and she is so cute and had so much fun. I am glad the school ended up having dance as an elective — DD1 is super into it too — and I never had them in dance when they were toddlers-in-tutus age so I’m glad they are getting the chance. Even if my little band kid heart is broken that neither have stuck to an instrument yet, lol.
In an interesting turn of events, DD2 who has never once had any interest in playing. a ball sport wants to try out for the 7th grade girls basketball team. Call out meeting is today, so we'll see!
