DS has aged out of Dependent Care FSA eligibility. Great! Saves me about $160 per paycheck.
DS and I were on a HDHP plan with an HSA last year (funded by me and employer). But I did the math, and the premiums for a PPO are less than what I would pay for the HDHP premiums + what I estimate I need in my HSA to cover my costs -- I'm on 3 meds, DS is on 1, I go to the doctor regularly for hypertension checkups, see a specialist or two a year, and something weird is going on with my bloodwork that we haven't figured out yet. DS is relatively healthy, just a well-check once a year.
But I'm second-guessing whether the PPO is the right plan for us.
I was coming here to say bitch about insurance. Our open enrollment started today as well. All the damn changes and my goodness, the PRICING! UGH. DH and I were on a HDHP with an HSA and it was good for us. Because honestly, my out of pock was $5 a paycheck for BOTH of us. Now that option has greatly changed and if I were to keep what I had and stay the course it would cost me $600 a freaking paycheck!
I take three meds as well for my diabetes and mental health. Now I have to decide which one I want to jump hoops through to keep taking.
Hubby works for a very small business that doesn't offer any insurance. And now we have been talking about him leaving and to focus on our real estate and his side machining business. That may not happen now, he may need to find a new job...
I finally measured my boobs because I haven't had a comfortable bra in years. I'm determined to fix that. So I went to a bunch of bra sites and apparently bra sizing is anarchy and I got 38D, 40B, 38G, and 42D with the same measurements depending on where I was looking.

pandorica, that is awful, I hope everything is okay.
Add me to the list of people very anxious. I still have a really good feeling about Harris but my intuition has been wrong before. I did good staying busy and exercising but I'm still uptight and stressed. Might take a Xanax. Hoping seeing two lovely teen clients and then going to a meeting about healthy recipes will keep me distracted.
DD said a boy at school asked her if she liked to "hawk tuah". Can we just restart society somewhere else now? We gave it a go, but whatever this is...it's stupid.
So my meds still have not shipped. I was hoping to start this weekend. This is going to mess up the blood work schedule she told me to follow.
Kroger’s online pick up system is a mess I wish you picked your time before you started your cart because I want to preload items for tomorrow, but it’s saying stuff is out of stock. But they should get a truck overnight.

I WFH on Mondays and Fridays (and DH does too). My dog has started sleeping in my office more than DH's, and I love to hear him snoring away while I work.
DH and I completed open enrollment for benefits we take through his employer. I am so glad that his employer does not have a rule that spouses are not able to enroll if they have insurance on their own/through their employer. His premiums are so much more affordable than the option I have through my employer (the per-paycheck amount for employee-only coverage through my employer is about the same as it is for family coverage through DH's employer). With the lower cost of premiums, we can afford to max out HSA contributions for the year.

Has anyone parked themselves in the ER and refused to leave until getting a biopsy? The skin issue that I have been dealing with since May is back and bad. The dermapathologist that I saw in September and came up with a plan (biopsy and culture) is out on medical leave until the end of the month and the earliest they can get me in is the 15th. The receptionist was very nice and has put me on the cancellation list and is going to keep an eye out herself. I just don't want to go to the ER for them to say its cellulitis or shingles and send me home. I need a biopsy to find out what is going on. The area is painful and my si joint right near where the rash is is painful and achy and hurts to walk. Ugh. I am done.

I put the kabosh on this last week in my class…by having the boy call him mom and tell her what he said to a girl. Haven’t heard it since 🤷♀️
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
H loves cracked black pepper and I haaaaaate biting into a peppercorn that didn’t get ground up well enough. But he cooks basically every night so I don’t complain lol
My daughter came home from kindergarten SO excited that she got to vote in class. We haven't been talking much about the election at home (beyond that we're voting) and so I was very curious to hear how it went. Turns out they voted on their favorite book and she was so happy that the one she voted for won 😂
Hopefully I can be as happy as her tomorrow (or whenever they finally decide the outcome).
Non-update about work: H is encouraged to WFH tomorrow and the rest of the week is TBD. My director said we could WFH for the rest of the week.
