I really enjoyed seeing the signals in people's clothes this morning. Pearls and chucks on the lady in front of me in line, a green and pink sweater on one of the election judges... Not that the green and pink is subtle...though I guess people who don't pay attention have no idea, so it still does the job. I wore blue personally, wish I had thought to put my chucks on.
I mentioned I’m leaving at lunch to go vote. I’m going home first to change. Jeans and chucks. And probably my strange women in ponds with swords shirt. 🤣

I just voted. No line and my Republican neighbors were there hanging out, voting and volunteering. I know the most of my neighbors here are dems but it was bad timing for me to go because I feel sick now.
I know people say dramatic things but I really don’t know if I want to live here any more. The UK is far from perfect but it’s not like this.
We have a lot of hotly contested bond measures on our ballot today and those will take days to count.
My mom texted me this morning that she is nervous about the elections and I have never in my almost 50 years of life heard her say that.
@@ Was super happy for adult DS to get to vote for the first time and it be such a big election. But sad that I had to tell him to be careful and to text me if there is any unrest on campus as results roll in so I know he's ok because his campus is pretty political (Berkeley).

My H is in line (I voted early) and it's loooong. I hope he doesn't have difficulty. He doesn't have a state ID but is registered and has both a current passport and nexus card. For as long as he's gonna have to wait, I hope they don't turn him away.
This is my preemptive gentle reminder that if things start going tits up, Canada is not some consolation prize. And also you would need a visa to move here.

I voted, but didn’t even think about what I was wearing. Hopefully people didn’t see my red sweatshirt as any indication that I was voting for Trump, because I would never. Now I’m stressed and feel like I need to change.
I voted early but I have driven by 3 different polling locations in my travels. All seemed moderately busy. I didn’t see lines out the doors or anything but parking lots were full.
I’m at Disney World today. I’ve seen a few Kamala shirts and a few generic “it’s Election Day” type of shirts or patriotic shirts. Have seen any out and proud Trumpers today, but did see some earlier in the trip. One was a man navigating one of those mobility vehicle thingys. Of course they don’t understand that when you take away the rights of women first, the rights of the disabled will soon be not far behind. Hypocrites.

I think the pink and green is subtle. If not for this place I would have no idea what it was signaling.
I agree, I could guess what it was, but I wouldn't have given it any thought unless someone mentioned it.
I haven't seen any trump posts in my FB feed this time. Now, I'm not naive enough to think they've changed their tunes, but clearly they feel a bit of embarrassment or shame. And rightfully so.
I’m drawing a blank - what does the green and pink stand for?
well teach me to assume things are more general knowledge. It's Kamala Harris's sorority colors. She's an AKA. So was my boss's boss at my old job, which is why I'm familiar (beyond talking about it here). I'd guess the (black, female) election judge I saw is also a member, since most people don't have what appeared to be hand-knit cardigans in those specific colors just laying around.
I vote absentee. My ballot was collected and counted a few weeks ago. Going to try and ignore stuff during the workday and will watch results tonight with a cocktail in hand.
I am working as an election judge. We have had over 800 people vote today, which I guess is a fairly high turnout for us so far.
I am working at the scanner for ballots. It's been mostly fun or at least pleasant. A couple of odd people but that's expected. I am obviously not seeing most votes but of those who have asked for assistance, it's been a good reminder not to make assumptions about who might vote for who!
In addition to the election stress, I am waiting to hear back on a job I interviewed for last week. They should be making an offer tomorrow by end of business, and letting those not selectedknowby the end of friday. So now it feels like a race to see which is resolved first...

I'm wearing my "I understand the assignment shirt" with my voting sticker. H is wearing his "Yes she can" shirt with his voting sticker. We have a local school board election I'm nervous about, but I think in years past those have taken quite a while to be settled.
I never wake up in the middle of the night, and was up at 3am.
We voted in person in 2016, but have moved to drop in our ballots since 2020. It's definitely a different vibe, but I liked getting the email yesterday that my ballot was received and counted.

My borough’s largest FB resident group is disgustingly MAGA today. Makes me wonder even if Harris does win, whether red areas of blue cities/states will be darker red this election. But hopefully it’s just social media nonsense that doesn’t reflect the reality on the ground, especially since the group is open to former residents too, of which there are many and love talking about how they are so happy to left (but still post in this group, wtf).
