Learned about 4B feminism in this thread and yes to this.
It’s already happening, since Roe v Wade. Women want to know men’s views before the first date. They ask who they voted for on dating apps. They look up if they are registered with a party or have donated $$. So many young women broke up with their BFs over this election. Some are saying they don’t plan on dating during this presidency.

Religion is maddening to me.
It really makes me wonder if we had more community and social groups instead of religious groups what life would be like. Would men just be really good at gardening and bowling without trying to kill everyone who isn’t a man…and occasionally other men to keep us all guessing?

I love this so much. Strike at them any way we can.
Well now we have complete confirmation that we a racist and misogynist country. We should all proceed accordingly.
Yup, this is us. This is who we are. No denying it.
Two steps forward, one step back. I think we all thought we'd moved beyond race (to some small degree) after Obama's election, but the pendulum swung back with Trump. I think we were all excited about Hillary & women's progress, and just thought "oh well she was deeply flawed candidate" and women are so close to being more equal. BUT NOPE.
I do think the economics of it, especially & particularly with men, young men, white men, rural men, minority men, etc is really a driving factor. Anything that threatens the status quo threatens those who benefit from it in some way. Think of all the threads we've had here recently along the lines of "the boys are not alright". I do think they've lost their place in society, the expectations, the rituals into adulthood, the real fraternity & group activities (besides online gaming).
I believe yesterday was our last presidential election. So I fear for all non-cis white males for the rest of the foreseeable future.
Don't forget white women. They (we) voted him in. I'm surrounded by them and I don't know how I'm going to move forward.
I would have thought the Barbie movie as popular has it was would have had a little bit of an impact on the internalized misogyny that keeps the patriarchy alive. I guess the women who needed the message the most didn’t watch it.

I think you’re over estimating the intelligence of a large portion of our country.
And that is why this hurts like hell. We all believed over the past four months that our friends, family members, and neighbors were coming out of the cultic haze that has aligned them with something so grotesque; that they were finally ready to emancipate themselves from it. Instead, they declared with searing clarity that they have gone all-in with his rotten, putrid movement of phobia and grievance and dehumanization and we can’t avoid it any longer. The reality, unmistakable to us right now, declared by the people, is that the majority of Americans have chosen this, three times. It was not a fluke or an aberration or a temporary leave of their senses—it was the desire of their poisoned hearts all along.
--------------
Racists, misogynists, and homophobes will be celebrating today. Many former friends, family members, and neighbors will be, too. For a long time, I tried to convince myself that those were two separate groups of people. Today, I had to finally admit they are one. Going forward, that’s what I will grieve the most.
They see their groceries are higher now because things like gas and eggs and milk are weekly purchases, but they don't consider all the long term cost increases that will be so, so much worse. Tariffs could mean $4000 iphones. Cuts to social security, medicare, and medicare mean mom or grandma has to live with them instead of at an independent living facility (that's definitely going to increase that grocery bill, and probably utilities, and possibly housing costs too if you have to move). Rolling back the ACA will once again make healthcare costs out of reach for millions.
Fuck all the misogyny.
Fuck all the the ignorance.
Today, fuck everything.
All of this. Plus the fact that they are too stupid to realize the president doesn't set the price of ANY of these things.
I say this with a huge caveat* - I fucking hope every last one of these assholes who fucked around and voted for the rapist felon finds out. And I fucking hope it hurts. I fucking hope they struggle and suffer.
*The caveat being that I know large amounts of people are going to suffer more than them, and I cannot put in to words how much I don't want that.
Don't make excuses for them. Plenty knew exactly what they were doing.
This wasn't ignorance, it was hatred.
I'm not making excuses for anyone. I'm expressing my frustration with one particular demographic who are discounting ~~waves hands~~ literally everything Trump has said, done, crimed, and ruined because they don't understand how the economy works and they are laser focused on that and only that.
I also think a lot of people's hatred is based in ignorance, and the GOP has basically developed a master class in keeping people ignorant to stoke fear and fan hatred, because it benefits them.

We need a social revolution now.
I’ve never been very religious, but more and more I’m starting to see all religion as a cult.

I’ve never been very religious, but more and more I’m starting to see all religion as a cult.
I was devout, even worked for a church.
The priest referred to people like me as having a sickness. No matter what was asked of them, they would do it in the name of God. I was shocked; I thought that’s how I was supposed to be. But that woke me up!
It’s absolutely a cult. They’re drinking juice at their meetings; heads-up!
All joking aside, I watch people justify their belonging over and over in as many ways as they can. I did it too. “Be the change you want to see.” Honey, my little pride flag isn’t doing shit against the Jesus Juggernaut. Stop giving it money and power.
I'm really at a loss for words about how I am feeling. Frankly, I'm in a circle the wagons, take care of mine and leave everyone else to fend for themselves mood.
I'm a minority women who works in public health. I refuse to shoulder the burden for people who continually vote against themselves anymore. I am currently doing the work of 3 people, with no additional pay or hours to get stuff done. I won't feel bad about people waiting on me or keeping hard boundaries. I no longer have any energy left for making others feel okay. Enough.
