DS and I are meeting a friend at the park this morning before he goes to his dads this afternoon. Then my parents and I are going to the outlets to do some Christmas shopping and dinner.
DD is celebrating her birthday tonight with friends. Her two closest friends are coming over and we are taking to them to dinner and then they will come back for baking and a sleepover. Should be fun! Best thing? I planned zero percent of it beyond making dinner reservations. Teenagers are awesome.

I've been quite productive so far today - while my H took Cooper for a walk, I built a shoe bench. We now have storage for our outside gardening shoes and a place to sit to put them on. There's still room for two more pairs so I may bring down a pair of sneakers that I tend to use regularly and put them there. I then co-oped my H into building a very large radiator cover for our downstairs hallway. I like it and it'll be perfect for decorating for Christmas this year! Then I took Cooper out for his afternoon walk, followed by making myself a late lunch. I plan to not move off the couch too much for the rest of the day.

I told my cousin we should do a family address book, with bdays and anniversaries too. She was thrilled! She wants to get it together before our family Xmas party. I have no idea how to put this together though. Maybe a staple bound spine? Help here would be appreciated. The party is 12/21.
She also wanted to do family recipes, but I said that wouldn’t be realistic before the party. However, we could have people bring recipes to the party, and she was super happy about that. That we’ll probably get spiral bound.
Overall, super excited to have this come together!!!
Pretty low key weekend here! I am waiting for my H while he gets a haircut, then we need to run a couple of errands. It's sunny and not super cold, so I think I'll take my dog on a nice walk around the lake later.
I am cooking us a thanksgiving meal tomorrow (we are traveling internationally for the actual holiday) so I expect that will be my main activity other than watching a football game at home.
We leave for vacation next weekend so it's kind of nice not to have a lot planned this one.

I bet if you look at stores like Staples and Office Depot/Max online, they will have some options for binding. I've found places like that are really reasonable for stuff like that too.
We really needed new tires on our hybrid, and it was a PITA to find 4 of a model we'd consider (efficiency really changes the equation). We finally found a good tire with 4 available, ordered them, scheduled install. H got there this morning and the warehouse had only shipped two. Grr.
He ended up with a different "better"/more expensive set at the price of the others, and I think they'll be ok- but it's so frustrating that something that should be so simple- just isn't.
DS got his first college admission last night, that was happy (and expected, it was probably the second safest of his apps)! A lot of kids we know were deferred or denied, though, it blows my mind how competitive the state schools are getting.
Both kids are at the high school for scioly this afternoon, I think we will head to the beach when they're done. I am not doing great with stress right now- not eating and running (which helps with the stress but requires food/fuel). This is my favorite time of year to be at the beach, I hope it helps.
I picked up some baskets I won at an estate auction and the house was on a massive, steep hill! Luckily it was just baskets, I can’t imagine having to haul anything heavier and there really wasn’t parking closer, just a foot path. The guy getting a china cabinet looked stressed.
PDQ I had an interview yesterday, get there and they have Fox News on the TV in the lobby. This is a design firm 😳 I'll be crafting a thanks but no thanks letter this afternoon.
I put a pic and description of my cat on the My Cat is a Little Shit facebook page and more than 8300 people have reacted to it. That’s sort of cracking me up.
tacokick, I’ve been doing a lot of estate sale online auction lately. I usually don’t win 🤣 But this one we got a leather chair from an Annapolis sale. H and I went out in the truck, and it was actually more crownsville. And then, it was actually this place that was like a 1950s summer camp in the Catskills (or at least my mental model of one, like from Ms Massel). These nice-ish (in their day) “cabins” in this maze of one way, hilly, narrow, unmarked roads. And H in his full size pickup. Somehow, we found a place to park and had to carry this chair out the back and around the overgrown wooded path. Oh, and it was mildewed and we drive it straight to a donation place that sterilizes upholstery. It was a lesson in throughly researching. And I did go through all the pictures to try to judge the overall condition if the house. Good times!
I’m still not adjusted to the time change. I was walking out of Joann’s and feeling like it was 4pm and it was only 2. The angle of the sun just messes with me.

This was online too! I’ve been having good luck lately with art and little things like baskets and lamps lately.
I’m scared of bigger furniture because what you described! I tried with a Martha Washington cabinet and it looked nice from the outside but the drawer cracked on our way home and I have zero interest in repairs. I can’t imagine wrestling a mildewed chair 💔
That place sounds amazing though! It is interesting how many of these strange pockets of properties are still around. People really did used to vacation in some oddball places.

I’ve had better luck winning with MaxSold, but I think CTBids is better run. My biggest thing is I get particular about how far I’ll drive and when the pickup is (like I’m usually busy Saturday 11-1, and most have pickup Saturday 10-2). But I check every week and I’m usually bidding on something. LOL I recently bought some very old mink pelts to use in cosplay. I feel it’s a slightly more ethical way to have fur (since it’s so old, nothing died for me)
Here is a house in that neighborhood. It was so bizarre driving through. Some tiny places that looks like they had been in the same family since 1950, and others that had obvious been remodeled. redf.in/p6rJAw

That’s similar to my parents’ neighborhood (not in AA Co) where there are 1940s fishing cabins with outhouses and Franken-houses right next to each other.
I am also very picky about pick up. Sometimes it’s early during the week and I am not hitting rush hours for estate sales.
I've been at the HS since 11am and probably won't get to go home until at least midnight 😭 Fall play matinee, lunch for the cast and crew, we're hosting the local HS theater awards judges this evening, the evening show, and then clean up from all of that.
And it's DD's 16th birthday so I was up early to fuss over her before she had to be here.

Started Couch to 5K today. Hoping to run in a local fundraiser race at the end of January.
Also started my higher dose of Effexor today. My doctor was amazing and had it ordered the day after I asked for help.
My son’s football team won their first playoff game last night and move into semifinals next week. I am so glad he is having a great Senior season but I’m ready to have my Friday nights back 😂
CVS has been sending me coupons lately and I feel a little guilty. I had $4 off any purchase, grabbed a souvenir while on a work trip, and paid $0. A few weeks ago with a similar coupon, I paid 23 cents for two greeting cards. They should learn their lesson soon and stick to the X% off coupons instead.

So tired.
That's so painful! The Cappies were at my DS's play Friday and it really slowed things down overall. They requested the audience to stay in their seats at intermission and at the end to let the Cappies leave first. And we and to wait to start things at the beginning and at the end of intermission because they weren't in the auditorium yet. This is DS's junior year and I don't remember it being a thing before, although I do they've been participating in the Cappies that entire time.
My keypad deadbolt seems to be on its last legs. It's not a battery issue. I think the touchpad part is the problem. It's pretty old at this point, but I'm still annoyed I need to spend money on it right now.
On a more exciting note, my new desk chair is out for delivery! Hopefully it fits through the door to my home office - it's definitely going to be close.

I think that's standard, but whether the show has to wait on them really depends on the group and how well the adults are managing them. This group was pretty good in that regard, and they wrapped up by 10:30 (they're allowed to go until 11:15). So glad since we had to get their room cleared out and reset as it was closing night and we couldn't get back in today to deal with it.
But our room looked AWESOME so that was fun! We also had the Secretary of Labor come do a talkback after one show and it was so cool to get to meet her (we did Radium Girls so very focused on safety regulations and workers' rights).

Michael’s sells a machine that will bind whatever you have - pretty sure they have both a ‘punch’ one you would use with binding and one that will heat it together. If you want flexibility to make it into a recipe book as well maybe look for a nice small binder and print pages that will be filled out with the addresses and birthdates and then clear pages that hold the recipe cards if you want them to be able to be taken out or just print and insert them if not. a.co/d/3IgY3AI
H is sick with congestion and this horrible cough. He keeps having coughing spasms. I think he’s going to the urgent care today. Unfortunately we were together all day yesterday and live in shared air though we are tried to keep separated so I feel it’s only a matter of time before I’m infected ☹️
