Help styling a skirt

We're going to a play next month (only at the children's theater, but still lol) and want to dress up a bit. I love this skirt but not sure what to wear it with. Any ideas. I'm a 2x on top if it helps.

I would do cream on top. Either a sweater or turtleneck. Slightly monochromatic.

OMG I was just scrolling fb and there was a reel from Instagram called 8 different ways to wear your holiday sweaters this year by someone whose sn is merricksart, and the only outfit I really liked was with a very similar skirt. She had a cream sweater with metallic bows on top, and it looked great. Oh, in the time it took to write this I got the message with links, it's this:

So if that doesn't work, I would look for something cream or winter white, with some volume somewhere like puff shoulder sleeves, and with some metallic detail if possible (like a few beads around the neckline or something if you don't like the bows). I think the key will be finding one that naturally hits right at/below the waistline of the skirt if you don't want to tuck something in/it's too bulky to tuck in.

ETA, I think she paired it with that exact skirt, is yours from Old Navy?  I'm bummed because I very much want that skirt now, but there's only xs in petite (which I def. need).

I love the monochromatic idea. You could also do a fitted black sweater (a nicer one, maybe a boatneck or 3/4 sleeve) updo with statement gold earrings, and interesting black shoes - strappy heels, heeled booties, etc.

I would do a fitted bodysuit, cream or black.

I have a similar skirt and I usually do a chunkier/volume sweater in a similar (but not totally matching) color.

For shoes I wear booties or sparkly mules (Birdies has some really pretty ones!)

I would do a chunky black sweater, either a turtleneck or not. Pair with black boots and a fun bag.

This is so cute!  I have a silk midi skirt that I was planning to wear to my company's Christmas party.  I think I'll swing by the loft and check it out to see if it'll match.  It looks like it's available instore blondemoment123

I'd do a sweater! I think there are a lot of colors that would look great - cream, black, wine, forest green, etc.
