At my college, we didn't have any gendered restrooms on the whole campus. All our dorm bathrooms were co-ed. I showered and pooped in stalls next to cis men for four years. Guess what? Nobody fucking cared. It's not any more or less weird to poop in a stall next to a person with a vagina than it is to poop in a stall next to a person with a penis. Nobody fucking notices because we're not all showing each other our genitals in the bathroom!
Gendered bathrooms are inherently weird to me and I cannot for the life of me understand why people insist on them.
A college I was at a lot for an activity I was heavily involved with had "all gender" restrooms way back in the early 2000s. IDK what the dorms were like but the classroom buildings were all like that.
It was weird the first couple of times but after that NBD.
I stayed at a hostel in Rome back in the day that didn't have gendered bathrooms and my first morning there there was a naked dude standing at a mirror shaving. *That* was weird. Not in a safety way or anything, just in an "ok, that happened" way.
This was way back in 2004 and nobody thought about it twice back then. It was just…not an issue? I don’t understand the uproar over gender neutral bathrooms in general—they’re so much more convenient for EVERYONE.

I have to wonder where these people have been.
I live in a very conservative Muslim country. You pee/poo in a non gender stall and wash hands in the open areas for everyone and seen by all. It's not an issue. If they can do it in about someone to be canef (really) they can get pay this disgusting bigotry
As me to the list of "why are bathrooms even gendered, anyway?"
I mean, I am aware that many men's rooms in the U.S. do have urinals that aren't shielded, so maybe that needs to go, but there's really no reason we can't just have private non-gendered stalls for everyone with an open area for sinks. That was how it worked in a job I worked in Europe back in 2011 and it was never a big deal at all!
Also these people in Congress are trying to score points by bullying and don't deserve their jobs.
