I’m soooo jealous of Lucy- her class is going to see Hamilton today. And it was only $40. I wanted to go but tickets were too expensive for my taste.

Which reminds me- I love Hamilton, but the phrase “watching the afterbirth of a nation” is fucking gross dude.

I work on a global team with most of my coworkers being in various European countries. My boss (also in Europe) scheduled a series of workshop type meeting in December that begin at 3:30am. That’s the bad thing about having people all over the world, someone is always on a meeting at a ridiculous time of day. I will have to inform him that I will not be on camera because I am not getting up early enough to make myself look presentable by 3:30am.

For some reason my new office doesn't have a phone. Which is fine, I have a phone number through teams. Except I have one company that swears they cannot get through.

I've asked for a phone now for almost a month. I'm not giving out my personal cell phone to these people.

We had a bad windstorm last night and don’t have power. Both kids slept with me and one or the other was either snoring or kicking all night. I need to have DS1 checked for sleep apnea, his tonsils and adenoids were take.ln out when he was 5, but the snoring was pretty bad. My H slept on the couch so his snoring wouldn’t keep us awake since he couldn’t use his CPAP.

I went to bed a little earlier than normal last night and somehow ended up oversleeping a bit this morning. I don't understand my body sometimes.

I'm trying to find a part time job to help pay some outstanding medical debit I have. I emailed back and forth with the manager from Target for a bit about my availability and what not, and then suddenly got a form "we're not interested" email and she just stopped responding to me. Then I had an actual phone interview with Wegmans and again, just a form email rejecting me. All of these places around me a desperate for help, but I can't seem to get hired. Is it me? Am I the problem? LOL

I am so tired today. But I got up and got a 5 mile run in before work, so I guess it's worth it?

I have a meeting in a few hours that's just "quick team check in". These types of meetings almost always mean someone is leaving (or being forced to leave), but I CANNOT figure out who it is. I asked my boss about it when it was put on our calendars yesterday, but he was in the dark too. Sure, he could just not be telling me, but that's not how he rolls, haha. And, if it was HIM leaving, I have a suspicion I would know simply b/c I'm the next highest ranking employee so at least temporarily I'd have to do some things to help out.

Only 2 more hours to ponder what's going on, haha.

Four of the five blood test for RA came back high, including the anti-CCP which a strong positive is anything greater than 59 and mine was greater than 250. I called yesterday for an appointment and the earliest I could get is May 9t, but they put me on the cancellation list. I have my physical next week so I am hoping maybe her office can help get me in sooner since it's all the same hospital.

A couple months ago I got an email saying I won a promotion through dave and busters. Initially assumed it was a scam, but looked thoroughly into it and it was legit. Filled everything out, got another email saying approved, you'll get your prize in 8-10 weeks. We are just at 8 weeks, haven't received anything. So, I reach out to ask, just to check. Just got an email that yes, this was legit, but as it's been over a couple months, not sure if they will do anything for you.

In the scheme of things is this a big deal, no, but were my kids excited, yes. It was an unlimited game pass for a year with some other stuff. Also, I NEVER win anything, so liked the idea that I actually was a winner! Even though I have zero desire to bring my kids there all the time, it was literally the first time we had ever been when we entered. Not to mention, it was something that required tax reporting and I don't want to pay taxes on something I didn't receive.

It's possible, at least at Target, though I'm available any day after 4pm and all day on the weekends. Who knows. Maybe I wasn't as bubbly and friendly on the phone interview as I thought

DS1 is SO sick. He has a terrible cough, fever and chills, body aches and just feels rotten. I’m going to take him to the doctor for seeing he has the flu. Pertussis is also going around his school, which seems so random. Who gets that anymore?

I'm sorry your son is sick. And also, this is one of the vaccines that the idiots don't get, so it's coming back. Going to be super fun for all the families in the US with RFK Jr. in charge making sure measles and plenty more come back too.

Dh and I are going to couples therapy today. I don't know why...we won't be able to go regularly, so 1 appt. isn't going to do much other than make me an anxious mess.

I'm also hosting a 40th birthday celebration for a good friend this evening, so I've spent all morning cleaning. I also woke up at 5 AM and realized that one friend requested I do a hot chocolate bar with home-made crock pot hot chocolate, but I had also planned to make a dinner in our crock pot tonight, so that wasn't going to work. Sorry friends, dinner is more important, so if you want hot chocolate, you can use a Keurig k-cup.

My mom has to decide whether she wants to have two dinners with my brother and none with my DD over Thanksgiving weekend, or one with my brother and one with DD.

The fact that she is really struggling with this decision, and has spent at least a week deliberating without coming to a conclusion, really tells you everything you need to know about my family.

I commented to a coworker that while DS(8) and I are up to date, H should go in and see if he needs a booster. She was all, but he gets so sick from vaccines. Yeah, but he won't die or kill an infant or old person so I'm calling it a win. Ah, red city people. Aren't they cool? /s

My DS2 had pneumonia 2 weeks ago, that is going around too.

jinkies I missed the backstory on your DD and her Uncle, but am so glad you are standing in solidarity with your DD. It's pretty insulting to have to decide and especially this long. Maybe you should just decide and have your own meal at home. I had a couple of mean relatives growing up and my parents were so passive about it and never told them to stop even. It was miserable to be forced around them. Now as an adult I have nearly nothing to do with them.

I got a cut and colored glaze last night. My hair is normally dark ash blonde with white at the temples mostly. I stopped highlighting some 8 months ago. The old highlights tend to pull gold over time, hence the glaze. Not sure what happened this time, but it's so dark. I know it'll lighten with time and washes but yikes. I don't look like me.

A cool toner will look darker. It absorbs more light than warm tones do. So maybe the toner used was cooler toned than usual.

Whooping cough ran rampant through our high school football and cheer teams.

Thanks. In fairness to my brother, it's not anything personal to him. It's just an availability issue. My parents always have dinner Thanksgiving day with my brother, then a larger gathering that includes us over the weekend. 

This year, DD is only available Saturday, my brother is only available Sunday. I should also note that my brother lives next door and sees them almost every day. And my mom guilts me about not seeing us enough. But when push comes to shove, she seems to be leaning heavily toward having the dinner on Sunday so that my brother can come to a second meal within a few days, vs. accommodating my daughter.

H swears that my mom has always heavily favored my brother, but it has gotten a LOT worse in recent years.
