Oh, I thought of another one. My very conservative e-free pastor's daughter friend kept singing Mrs. Robinson while I was over at her house because she thought it was a religious song. (This was in high school.) I don't think her parents were happy when I explained that song to her.

There used to be this giant billboard along the highway in Philadelphia that said "Virgin: teach your kids that it's not a dirty word." We drove past it every time we went to/from my grandparents' house.
Cut to my BFF in whatever early elementary school grade it came out being all know it all and prudish going "I don't sing Like a Virgin anymore now that I know what it means." And because I hate being shown up but had no idea what it meant, I shot back "it's not a dirty word!"
We were at an impasse. Neither of us actually knew what was going on or how to respond. So we went and got on the swings or whatever. This is a core memory for me.
At my wedding reception, I put Like a Prayer AND Like a Virgin on the must play list and there's a great picture of her and I belting out one of them together.

LOL. I was absolutely adamant I wasn't a virgin because I had no idea what it meant. I just knew I wasn't it. Core memory me, too.
