I'm not making any decisions on the nursery until we find out if we're team pink or team blue, but one thing I've been considering is doing stripes - something similar to these pictures I found on Pinterest.
My question, I pose to the board - stipes on one wall (like first picture) or on all walls (like second picture)? I feel like accent walls went "out" a few years ago, but I also know that lining up stripes on perpendicular walls would be a challenge.

I'm definitely not down with decorating trends, but the all walls seems a little too much, especially given the contrast. I like the one wall better from these pics.

My first thought was one wall, but looking at the pictures, I do like the second as much as the first, but I think what I like a lot about the second is that the stripes are broader. Is it a large room or smaller sized?

I like the one wall. These nurseries are awesome! I wish I had a bigger room so I could have done more. I do love DS's room but wouldnt mind a change too. We still need to get more stuff on the walls.

I like the broader stripes too. The room is about 12x12. I'm thinking that either the crib or dresser will be white (the other, color TBD) so to have a white piece of furniture up against a stripe wall may look weird.

My friend just did that exact color on a wall in her nursery. It is absolutely gorgeous. Her pop of color was in the curtains. I love the way that her nursery turned out. (I don't know how to make this clicky)
I like both pics but I like the second one better. It does sound a little challenging to get them lined up though. My H is so particular about that stuff it would take him an entire day just to get his tape on.
Thanks for the picture Chelsea - I always like seeing variations
Sara - I'm pretty particular with that kind of stuff too - which is what concerns me about multiple walls. I could see myself spending way too much time getting things to line up.

In the second picture the bookshelf is white and that doesn't strange to me, especially if there were other elements of white throughout. But then I love a pop of white. I am pretty sure that doing stripes on all walls would make the room seem bigger, the same way painting multiple rooms in an open living space a uniform color gives the illusion of a larger space.
I like both pics. I thought I would like the first one better because stripes everywhere just seems to busy for me, but I do like the second picture. I think it's the furniture, etc that makes me like it better.
My cousin did vertical stripes for her daughter's nursery on one wall, but only half of the wall. She had an "Eloise" theme.

I love those colors and I think one wall where the crib is would be awesome. I did one stripe going around the perimeter of the room and I like how that came out as well. You can see my nursery on my pinterest.. www.pinterest.com/ufshawna and go to my nursery ideas board. Mine is the one with khaki walls and one light blue stripe.

I wanted a stripe or stripes but it would've been too time consuming. Plus, I'm sure little one will want some something different when she's older. I did an accent wall... Maybe it is out of style but it was just hubs painting. ::shrugs::
I think I like the second photo better. I love the idea of stripes. I wish I could do it at my house but our walls are textured
Be sure to post the finished photos! And how exciting you will soon be finding out the sex! I am thinking it's a boy......but I am always wrong. ALWAYS

You can paint stripes on textured walls. There are videos that can show you but basically you tape it up and then paint the white layer to seal the tape and then paint the stripe color when the white dries. My friend has striped walls and you can't even tell, it looks perfect.

Tape and a credit card (or store loyalty card) over the seams, a coat of the base paint, and pulling that tape as soon as the last coat on is supposed to do the trick. We'll see ... unless I change my mind. I'm going to pick up a few colors and do some samples on poster boards (color combos and width of stripes) this weekend to see if I think I really like it
