I want to start getting DS involved in some things, and I was checking out Kindermusik. It seems like it would be a super thing for him to do and he'd really enjoy it, but the tuition is $234. That's not a deal breaker, but I don't know anyone who has done it. I'd just like to know how other kids liked it before I blindly drop that amount of money. Anyone have any experience with it?

I don't know about Kindermusik, but if you have Music Together classes in your area (you should), those are definitely worth it.
My DD took Music Together for two years. It's a wonderful program designed to really teach young children musical concepts in a fun environment. (I have a friend who was a music major who can't recommend the classes enough.)
And I liked it because it is NOT "kiddie" music. The songs are varied enough that I don't mind listening to them all the time.
I think Kindermusik is similar, but it's less based in music theory and it has songs that are much more typically "kiddie." Also, Kindermusik is divided by age group, whereas Music Together wants the children to learn from each other, so the classes are multi-age.

There is one near me. And it's $180. I wonder if we should give that a shot.

I'm not familiar with Kindermusik, but I have heard excellent things about Music Together. I wish I had done that with DD instead of some of the other mnusic classes we did.
I have a friend that did Kindermusik and raved about it... but she was gifted the classes. I couldn't justify the cost for the age DS was (under 1) and now they're pretty inconveniently timed for working parents.

I found a local women that started her own music classes. She used to teach KinderMusik and then branched out on her own.
I took DD1 there and just started with DD2. The ages are from 15months-5years I think. The oldest in our current class just turned 3. I like the age spread because they learn from the older kids. It is ~$180 for 16 weeks/classes.
We did music together and my boys really liked it. I did it mostly for convenience I could walk to the class or my nanny could. Our county rec center offered kiddie music classes for a little less, but I would have to put my kids in the car.
My mom used to run a music class for the 3-4yr age range. The kids had a lot of fun with it. Obviously no real musical talent at that point, but a fun intro to music lessons
