Hey guys... I've made the migration over to here. Had the same SN on TN but I still have to figure out the avatar and all that. Anyhow, I wanted to get some thoughts on a running thing.
I ran a half last Sunday (May 6). I'm running another half next Sunday (May 20th). I'm trying to figure out what to do running-wise this weekend. At first I was thinking of doing a mid-distance LR on Sunday - 8 miles or so, then doing a short run monday or tuesday and then nothing until race day (I usually take off 4 or 5 days before a half to taper). But then I was thinking that in the training plans I usually use, I run 10-12 miles two weeks before race day, which in this case would be the half that I did last weekend, and then I typically just do 3-5 miles the weekend before. I was originally thinking of doing 8ish to keep my endurance up, but maybe it's not needed?
So all of that summarized, should I do a short run this weekend or a mid-length longer run?
Physically it doesn't matter at all at this point, you are prepared and ready to go. Emotionally I would need to run 8-10 this weekend if I was in your shoes. Do what feels the best to you.

anywhere between 6 - 10 is going to be fine. you could not run at all between now and then and still go finish the race, so like others have said, anything now is just for emotional/mental reasons
i am doing the same thing. the race on 5/6 was my "A" race, the one on 5/20 is for fun, i have no goal.
im probably going to run 6-8 as my long run this weekend, ill see how i feel. i probably wont taper too much next week, but ill take off on saturday and not go crazy the rest of the week.

have fun!
Yea last weekend was *supposed* to be my "A" race, but then heat and sun happened and my time goal went out the window... so now I'm secretly hoping I'll feel great next weekend, but if I don't oh well, it'll be fun.
Good luck to you and thanks for sharing your plan!
