Another Intro and a question

Hi! I've been on the boards for a while, just not this specific one.

DH and I have decided to TTC. I went off my BC just over a week ago and have had nonstop headaches and migraines ever since. I have been on BC straight since i was 17, I am 33 now. Have any of you experienced that or heard of going of BC causing constant headaches and migraines???

Yup. Headaches, emotions like whoa, some people have skin changes, etc etc. It will depend too, whether or not you were on a pill or like an iud Welcome tho!

My headaches have almost completely gone away since being off BCP. I can easily see how it's related to your hormone levels, so it's understandable that any major changes in hormones (either higher or lower) could cause headaches to occur (or disappear).

I've also been WAY emotional.

It was the other way around for me (BC gave me migraines), but it's definitely possible that your shifting hormones are causing headaches. If you are still getting headaches next month, go see your doc.

I went of BCP in April, for two months my head hurt almost constantly (I had been on them since I was 16 for cysts), I had major brain fog, my skin rebelled to its prior teenage zit-covered glory and I had aweful cramps....
After the two months were up, I feel like a totally different person!

Yeah, I broke out and my boobs shrunk big time after I first went off. I also had 40-60 day cycles for the first year. No idea if I ovulated or not, but it was stressful.

thanks for all the replies and welcomes....glad i have a good idea now what was causing those headaches/migraines. they seem to be mostly gone now. It also probably didn't help that i was on BC for so long and i'd go 4-5 months with out having a period because they were so painful (i get really really bad cysts if i'm not on it and my periods are horrible) so my body probably didn't like the change in hormone level and all the stress we've been under since we got back from our honeymoon probably didn't help.
