So today I basically hit myself in the face by accident (long story) and now I have a small bruise on the inside of my bottom lip. When I talk, you can see it. It looks like I have been chewing on a blue pen And of course I'm going out of town tomorrow and will see a bunch of people. All I can think of to do is wear some lipstick if I want to try to cover it.
Which got me thinking how I never wear lipstick. Do you guys? Sometimes I think that our generation doesn't wear lipstick daily like maybe our mothers' generation did. My mom is 63 and won't go out in public without lipstick. She's always reapplying it. But I never bother with it, I just use lip balm so that my lips don't feel dry.
I have the thinnest lips, they're almost non existent. I feel like lipstick draws attention to that and its not cute so I just stick to light glosses. Plus I'm a nail biter so I reapply often and don't want to have to use a mirror.
So last night I tried to cover the bruise with lipstick and it doesn't work. So I'll just have to have a blue spot on my lip for however long it takes for it to go away. Yay!

That sucks, Lauren! I once had little spill that resulted in a swollen lip, and there was no covering that up either.
I pretty much never bother putting anything on my lips unless I'm going "out," and that rarely happens anymore. I'm definitely more of a gloss wearer than a lipstick wearer, but occasionally I'd combine the two. Most often it's just some kind of balm.
