DH is retired military and we can hop on any military cargo type plane if there is room for free. There is a 3 day trip to Anchorage Alaska in three weeks and we are going to go if we can get on. I have always wanted to see the northern lights. Kind of crazy to travel that far for 2 days on the ground but hey- free flight!
This sounds so awesome! I want to see the northern lights someday too!

Most things I look forward to are related to either travel or food (as indicated by screenname):
Apple picking in Hudson Valley this weekend
Eating at Ichimura next weekend
Wedding at a stunning estate in Ireland in November. The couple reserved the entire estate so in between the various wedding events we'll be able to do archery, falconry, whisky tastings, etc.
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda in December
Also hoping finally to eat at Brooklyn Fare this fall. We’ve had to change our reservation 4 times now for various reasons.
Oh and I’m starting a 3-month photography class tonight which I’m really excited about since I’m hoping to turn my moderate photography skills into advanced ones before Rwanda.
For Thanksgiving, I leave for a work conference on Weds Nov 14, will be back home on the 15th, and will not return to work until Nov 26 due to saved vacation time. Our 2yr old will have several days in daycare, so I get some actual down-time (even with hosting Thankgiving). Saving for a day at the spa for a facial, body wrap, and hair cut with professional dye job (haven't had that since C was born!).
We're also going to Buffalo to visit my brother next week. C is obsessed with trains, and we're taking him on his first real train ride while we're there, as well as visiting Niagara Falls.
And my brother and his fiancee will be coming into town for Thanksgiving, it will be so great to have everyone at the table.
The weekend. I'm so busy at work, and I have Monday off for Columbus Day so we're going to the casino sunday night since we have a free hotel stay. It'll be nice to relax...and hopefully win!
I love Aruba! Is it your first time? Everyone says Baby Beach is a must for kids but if you go know that there's no natural shade available and try to bring one of those tent thingies. We rented chairs with a canopy. Have fun!
That fact that DH is off on Monday for Columbus Day.
My sister and my youngest nephew's birthdays are both next weekend; I love shopping for them.
Bigger:
My BFF just signed a contract on a house and I'm excited for her. I can't wait to help her arrange furniture and decorate.
We're having new siding put our house and in the process, removing a weird old balcony that's off our hallway. I've hated that thing ever since we bought this house. After that, we're going to start the refinancing process.

I'm looking forward to a friend's wedding on the 13th (even though I have to work it as wedding coordinator, it will be fun!), and an early anniversary dinner sometime before H leaves for a work trip later this month.
DD gets her music for their routine for the year and show offs are in a little over a week. I get crazy excited to see her to do something she loves and excels at.
