they make them for practically everything, so it really could be anything at all. around here I see a lot for a local elementary school and my parents had some made for the private community they live in
Why do people use these bumper stickers? I see them everywhere. Especially the OBX one, OBX isn't that awesome. Every time I see one I feel sorry for the person and I want to help them plan a new (and better) vacation.

Lol, this is us (except we don't put stickers on our cars). My H loves that place. He makes us go every year. I thought I'd get out of it this year because of the baby but nope he's all let's go in Oct. for something different!
It's a nice enough place but I really don't get why he likes it so much. We go with DH's family but since we pay for everything, including the house, it's not exactly cheap. I'd much rather go someplace else.
I also don't get the OBX love. I went once ... the beach was lovely but I'm not a beach person (we went because friends invited us).
And if you're not a beach person then there's pretty much nothing else to do down there. I could've cut 7 hours off my driving time and just gone down the Jersey Shore for a week instead.

Awww, signing in as an OBX sticker owner and we got there annually for our beach vacation (although it's not our only vacation). It's family tradition for us, we used to go to NE's south shore (where we still have a house) with my grandparents, but now we go to the OBX b/c it's a lot closer to where we live and you can get in the water.
No offense to anyone who frequents OBX. We all have our places.
FWIW, I frequent Biloxi, Mississippi, of all places, because of my husband. If New Orleans (strippers! debauchery! alcohol!) wasn't close-by I'd gouge my eyes out.

Hawaii's usually is HI though, right?
People have those bumper stickers because it is very important for you to know that they are regulars at a desirable vacation spot.
Those bumper stickers/car magnets drive me nuts, but most bumper stickers/car magnets do. What I can't understand all of the OBX hate! I've been all over the world and travel very often and OBX is still one of my favorite places to visit. Maybe it's just the vibe down there, I can't put my finger on it, but I love love love OBX. I'm a west coast girl so maybe it's just the novelty of a really laid back east coast beach.
My DHs & my Dads family love the Outer Banks--we go there often. I never really got it either but I play along even though after 2 times I wasover it. The people that I know that love it all grew up in Virginia/Carolinas. Now that all of them moved out West to be near us, I am hoping we transition to an annual beach trip to CA instead. I have convinced DH to take the girls to some other beaches in FL, SC & CA which were all nicer & DH is now on my side.
Haworth has a sticker? That's sorta funny, there's nothing there (seriously - pharmacy, pizza place and maybe 3 other stores) and it's the town is the size of a postage stamp. MH grew up in the next town over and the towns share a HS.

Same here. And that was my reaction too.

Cool, MH grew up in Demarest. ILs are still there.
